Explained by Shaykh Saalih Fawzan
May Allah grant you good O noble Shaykh; the questioner says: Is committing an impermissible action proof that the person has judged this action to be permissible, thus resulting in disbelief? Is giving permits to bars in which the patrons consume alcohol or discos or cinemas, and theaters, or interest-based banks; is this considered judging these acts to be permissible by way of action; thus resulting in disbelief?
No. The action does not prove the person has judged it to be permissible. He may acknowledge that it is forbidden while committing the action due to following his desires, or due to love of wealth. And this is considered sinning, and this is not considered disbelief.
Judging something to be permissible is by statement, if he clearly states this and he said: “This thing is permissible.” This is that which is considered disbelief.
As for merely engaging in the action this is not proof the person has judged it to be permissible. Because it is likely that he was lead to this by the love of wealth, or desires or other than that; or due to evil companions; despite the fact that he believes it to be Haraam.

The story of Bula’am
Explained by Shaykh Fawzan
And recite (O Muhammad) to them the story of him to whom We gave Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), but he threw them away, so Shaytaan followed him up, and he became of those who went astray.
(Soorah Al A’raf 7:175)
This man was a scholar from the children of Israel. “Him to whom We gave Our Ayat”. He was a scholar from the children of Israel. And he was a person whose supplication was answered, because he knew the greatest Name. He knew Allah’s greatest Name, which if called upon with this name He will answer the supplication. He was a worshipper and he was a scholar, and he was a person whose supplication was answered. His name was Bu’laam; Bu’laam ibn Baa’ooraa’.
Thus Musa—peace be upon him—and the children of Israel fought the military campaign during the battle for Baytul Maqdis to conquer it and take it from the hands of the pagans, the likes of the Canaanites and the Amalekites.
So the enemies who Musa were fighting against came to Bu’laam, this scholar. They were afraid of the Muslims, they were afraid of Musa peace be upon him. They came to Bu’laam requesting that he supplicate to Allah against Musa and against the Muslims. They requested this from him because his supplication was accepted. At first he rejected their request. He refused and rejected them. Then they convinced him, perhaps giving him some wealth. At this point he supplicated against Musa. Thus Allah the Exalted disgraced him and removed the blessing from him.
And recite (O Muhammad) to them the story of him to whom We gave Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), but he threw them away, so Shaytaan followed him up, and he became of those who went astray.
وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَاهُ بِهَا
And had We willed, We would surely have elevated him therewith
Meaning with the Ayat.
وَلَكِنَّهُ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ
But he clung to the earth
He did not want elevation and might (from Allah)
أَخْلَدَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ
He clung to the earth and followed his own vain desire
فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِ إِنْ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَثْ
So his description is the description of a dog: if you drive him away, he lolls his tongue out,or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls his tongue out.
The dog always dangles its tongue out, whether it’s in the shade or the sun, if it is riding or walking; it dangles its tongue out. Thus Allah likens this man to a dog, the vilest of animals. And with Allah refuge is sought.
Despite the fact that he was a scholar etc.; but when he threw away the Ayat of Allah, Allah removed it from him. He threw away the Ayat of Allah and obeyed the pagans, and supplicated against the friends of Allah; thus Allah the Exalted punished him. Allah punished him. This is proof that whoever obeys the disbelievers and assists and aids them against the Muslims is similar to Bul’aam; he is similar to Bul’aam ibn Baa’ooraa’, he has thrown away the signs of Allah.

O brothers, the Muslim countries that are burning because of the Hizbiyyaat (partisanships) and the Ahzaab (parties): ask Allaah to save them (from this fitnah). And advise those from them whom you have a connection with – especially the students of knowledge – that they stay in their houses until the calamity disappears. It is upon them to stay in their houses! They should not go with so and so, nor with such and such Hizb (party).
This is the rightly-guided Caliph, ‘Uthmaan ibn ‘Affaan – may Allaah be pleased with him: the people of evil surrounded him from all sides and gathered to kill him. What did he (‘Uthmaan) say to his Companions, those who stood up to defend him? What did he say to them? He said: “I ask you by Allaah. I ask everyone who has given a pledge to me, to enter his house and close his door.” Allaahu akbar! Was there a greater fitnah than the killing of the Caliph at that moment? And yet he forbade them to participate (in this fitnah). To spare what? The blood of the Muslims! The Companions did not go shout in the streets: “Long live so and so and down with so and so.” I seek refuge with Allaah!
O brothers, this is a serious principle, by Allaah! Right now, the streets are ruined and the Muslim countries have become lost because of this illusion, because of the gathering in the streets and the uproar! Men and women! Old people, children and youth! Fear Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic!
I call the people of those countries, those to whom my voice reaches, even by way of some media. Send to them this call: I call the Muslims, and Ahlus-Sunnah in particular, that they stay in their houses until the calamity disappears. They should not go in the streets to demonstrate! Demonstrations are a Jewish principle! By Allaah, a Jewish, Masonic and Zionist principle! They are not from the religion of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic!! And whoever gives a fatwaa saying that demonstrations are from the religion of Allaah, then he is an inventor of lies upon Allaah!! And he is someone who speaks about Allaah with other than the truth! There are no demonstrations in Islaam.
I have narrated to you the story: the Messenger of Allaah – salla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam – and Banoo Haashim were imprisoned in the Shi‘b (mountain pass) of Aboo Taalib during three years. Did the Companions go to demonstrate, to get the Messenger out of this place? They did not do this! He was driven out of Makkah! Intestines were thrown at him! He was harmed! They tried to kill him! Was he (the Messenger) not able to make the all of the Companions rise and kill Abu Jahl and those with him? He was able! But Allaah has Sunan (ways) in His creation, and its not correct to go beyond it.
Pay attention, O brothers! Don’t let the hate pass over to you, while you are in this good country! Praise and thank Allaah for this blessing! Worship your Lord and praise and thank Him for the safety and security that you are in.
I call my brothers in Egypt in particular, as I called them from the Masjid of the Prophet two days ago. I call them and remind them of Allaah, stay in your houses! Beware of this hostility! Leave these demonstrations, strikes, sit-ins and destruction of properties! The Jews will exploit you! The enemies of Islaam will exploit you! Those who seek positions and leadership will exploit you! The enemies of Islaam will exploit you from every place, from the East and the West!
So return to Allaah! Stay in your houses! Lock yourselves up in your houses until you are safe. I ask Allaah, the Most Generous, the Lord of the Mighty Throne, with His Beautiful Names and Lofty Attributes, that He grants me and you success to beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds, and that He protects me, you and the Muslim countries from the fitan (trials, tribulations), that which is apparent from it and that which is hidden, and that He makes me and you from those who are saved from the Hellfire in this blessed month, for only He is worthy of this, and He alone is able to bring this to pass. And the close of our request is: All the praises and thanks are to Allaah, the Lord of the ‘Aalameen (mankind, jinn and all that exists). And may Allaah raise the rank of our Prophet Muhammed, his family and all of his Companions, grant them peace and bless them.

With what do you direct the student and the beginning seeker of knowledge with? – By: Shaykh Saalih ibn Fawzan al-Fawzan
We Hope to open this meeting O virtuous Shaykh with a question from one of the brothers who says: “Shaykh Sālih with what do you direct the students of knowledge or similarly the beginning students of knowledge and those who have begun and what are the books you advise they begin with, in their quest for knowledge and what is the reward for acquiring Islāmic knowledge?”
With the Name of Allāh, Ar-Rahmān Ar-Rahīm, and all praises are for Allāh the Lord of everything that exist may the salāt and salām be upon our Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, his family and all of his Companions.
This an important question and it is how one should seek knowledge and how the student of knowledge should begin and who knowledge should be sought from and what are the books one should begin with and what is the important type of knowledge from all the (different) studies of knowledge.
So I say, and with Allāh is the success, without doubt seeking knowledge is an important affair. Allāh جل وعلا says: “Know! That none has the right to be worshipped except Allāh, and ask for forgiveness of your sins and for the male and female believers” (47:19)
Imām al-Bukhārī (May Allāh have mercy on him) said in his chapter “Knowledge proceeds speech and action” then he mentioned this verse.
This is because if actions are not based upon knowledge, founded upon knowledge, then it is misguidance and tiring without benefit.Because the affair is like this it’s an obligation upon the Muslim to seek knowledge.
And this (knowledge) is categorized into two categories.
This first category ofKnowledge:
That which the Muslims religion will not be established except by way of it and this is an individual obligation upon every Muslim, male and female. That he learns that which his religion will be established by it. His Belief, his Prayer, his Zakāt, his Fasting, his Hajj, the five pillars of Islām. It is a must that he learns them, how he performs them. What are the requirements of every action, what are the conditions for them to be accepted by Allāh سبحانه و تعالى (as the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said):
“Actions are only by the intentions” Having sincere intentions “And every person will have that which he intends”
This is what is obligatory upon every Muslim, an individual obligation upon (every) male and female and everyone who has reached the age of puberty, it is obligatory upon him that he begins with this.
Particularly with the affair of Creed, because it the foundation in which his actions are built upon. Action without knowledge is not accepted and actions (not built upon a sound) Creed are false actions and it will not benefit its doer, so if he begins with anything he begins with the Creed
(Allāh says) : “Know! That none has the right to be worshipped except Allāh” (47:19). This is Creed (mentioned in this verse) so he starts with knowledge of Creed.
Then after this he learns the rulings of the prayer which are compulsory upon him day and night, five times (a day) he knows its conditions, its pillars and its obligations and how he performs it, until (it is performed) in its legislative manner, so that Allāh will accept it from him (along) with him having a sincere intention.
Then he learns how to perform (pay) the Zakāt what are its conditions and what type of wealth which are obligatory (to be paid) regarding it and what is the amount obligatory (to be paid) on it, who are the one who it should be distributed to until it is performed in the manner demanded, because it coupled (paired together) with the Prayer.
Then he learns how he should fast during the month of Ramadhān and what the conditions of fasting are, what nullifies it and what makes it defective.
Then he learns how to make Hajj to the house al-Atīq and how he performs Hajj and Umrah.
So it is a must that he learns these affairs with details even if (he learns them) small portions (at a time) because all forms of worship has its small portions (in learning them). An individual beginning in his (studies) learns (these issues) with what is easy (while) returning to the people of knowledge.
This Second category of Knowledge:
Then he learns (that) which will aid him, he learns the rulings of transactions and this is from the second category of knowledge. This is what is obligatory upon some (but not every individual).
So whoever has the ability to learn it then he does so to benefit himself and the Muslims. Also this is what relates to the study of transactions, judgments and inheritance, wills and endowments, the book of marriage and divorce, the book of crimes and punishments, the book of qadā (etc.) All these are collective obligations, where one establishes it in what suffices himself and the Muslims, then this remains a right for the Muslims (in general) a recommended act (of seeking this knowledge) an affirmed recommended act.
So it is a must seek knowledge upon its known way, with the people of knowledge which Allāh has designed and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم. So one does not seek knowledge except from its people, those known for it, he does not take knowledge from someone who claims [ المتعاال ] it or ignorant person الجاهال or the people of misguidance and deviation اهال الضالال و اننحافا but rather he takes knowledge from the people of knowledge who remain upright upon obedience (to Allāh) and worship and like this one take knowledge.
Either in schools with a system of study, or centers or colleges, or at the hands of the scholars in the Masājid. These are the places for seeking knowledge.
Also he learns that which will aid him in fiqh and the remaining sciences (of knowledge) as what is called knowledge of علاء such as Arabic grammar, Arabic language, or balāgha and this is something necessary for a person to learn that which is from the sciences of Arabic language. That from grammar and the Arabic language, that which the Qur’ān al-Karīm was revealed in and this regulates his recitation of Qur’ān and he doesn’t make mistakes in (its recitation) and this is not possible except by learning (Arabic) grammar.
Also he learns knowledge of measuring that which is distributed from inheritance, (knowledge) of how categorize in issues and how to give everyone who has a right, his rights as Allāh legislated and this is what is called knowledge of hisāb (measuring). So he gains understanding in transactions and other than that.
And this without doubt requires from the individual two affairs:
First affair: Patience upon the length (of time) in learning and patience upon the difficulties in learning.
Second affair: to act by what Allāh has taught him (what He has caused him to learn). There is a must that he works by what Allāh has taught him.
And a third affair: that he teaches the people (as Allāh says): “To obtain understanding in the religion and warn their people when they return to them that they might be cautious” (9:122) So he learns and then he teaches.
As for the misguided group, who says we are not in need of learning knowledge as it hinders you from actions, and what is intended is actions and they strive hard in worship and they leave knowledge which is its guide and guidance. These people are misguided people and their actions are misguided. And this is mentioned in surah al-Fātihah which we read in every raka’ah “Guide us to the straight path – the path of those upon whom You have bestowed Your Favour, not of those who have evoked [Your] Anger or of those who went astray.” (1:6-7) Those who (Allāh’s) favour has been placed upon them are those who combine between beneficial knowledge and righteous actions. They don’t just take knowledge only without action and they don’t take action without knowledge. And those who have earned (Allāh’s) anger are those who took knowledge and abandoned action as the Jews. And those who are astray are those who took action and they abandoned knowledge. Those who are acquainted with this are the Christians, those who worship Allāh upon ignorance and misguidance. In every unit of prayer you read this great ayah. “Guide us to the straight path – the path of those upon whom You have bestowed Your Favour, not of those who have evoked [Your] Anger or of those who went astray.” (1:6-7)
So contemplate it and work by it! And do not pay attention to those who abstain from seeking knowledge and are firm upon that.Do not pay attention to those who meet knowledge with ignorance without knowing its guidelines and regulations and causes people to go astray.
These affairs are from principles in seeking knowledge and it is a must that the Muslim knows them.
And that which is the foundation is the intention, you seek knowledge with a good intention (i.e. for Allāh only) because seeking knowledge is worship and it is a must that the worship have an intention as the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Actions are only by the intentions and every individual will have that which he intends”

Advice concerning the current events in Egypt
by Shaykh Sulaymaan bin Saleemullaah ar-Ruhaylee
He says, “May Allaah bless you. Would you be so good as to give an advice to the students of knowledge in particular and the Muslims in general regarding the current events in Egypt, and is the new government seen as an Islamic government?”
Shaykh Sulaymaan ar-Ruhaylee:
I ask Allaah – the Mighty and Majestic – by His Beautiful Names and Lofty Attributes to spare the blood of the Muslims and to remove the calamity.
And there is no doubt that every possessor of sound knowledge and right understanding is happy with every deed which spares the blood of the Muslims and removes this great evil. And there is no doubt that I say: that which is obligatory upon the people of Egypt is that they strive to prevent bloodshed and to withhold from the deeds that lead to killing and to the departing of the souls (i.e. death) from all parties. For verily, the affair of blood is a very serious one!
«لَا يَزَالُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مُعْنِقًا صَالِحًا، مَا لَمْ يُصِبْ دَمًا حَرَامًا، فَإِذَا أَصَابَ دَمًا حَرَامًا بَلَّح»
“The believer will remain unburdened in righteousness as long as he does not shed prohibited blood. When he sheds forbidden blood, he will become burdened.”
And that which is established with Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa‘ah is that the ruler who took power by force, with the sword, if he took power by force and the affair is settled for him with the general people, then he becomes an Islamic ruler.
And this is why we say, O brothers: Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa‘ah might say that something is haraam (forbidden, unlawful), but they mention the fruits that are a result [of staying away from this haraam issue]. Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa‘ah do not allow to take power by force. They do not allow anyone to come and take power by force, and this is haraam! But when it happens and he gets authority, then the authority is established for this person who took power by force.
And we ask Allaah to grant the rulers of the Ummah – from our rulers and the honourable scholars who are enlightened with the Sunnah – we ask Allaah to give them success in employing the means which prevent bloodshed and remove the evil.
And the advice to the students of knowledge is, first of all, that a person should not get involved in that which is not meant for him. So that which is not meant for you, then do not involve yourself in it. And ask Allaah to give success to and guide the one who has been burdened with this affair.
And secondly: beware of oppression! Do not oppress anyone! For verily, the consequence of oppression is evil.
And thirdly: realize the good that you are in, and thank and praise Allaah for it. And cooperate with the rulers in your country and your scholars upon good. And preserve the good that is present in your country.
And if you are from the people of advising, then advise through the correct, sound and proper Legislated ways which actualize good and prevent evil.
Then: I advise the brothers to not spread the words that appear in the modern media which contain no good. Like now, we find that audio’s appear, on that which is called “Twitter”, by people who speak with false speech concerning these events. Some people spread these words with a good intention; his intent is to show its repulsiveness. But in reality he spreads it and then the shubuhaat (doubts) reach many people. Things like this, I do not view them [as permissible]. And I view that there is no problem that these words are looked at by someone from who it is known that he understands, so that he knows the reality of the affairs. As for this being spread to the general people, and these words being spread, then this entails that these evil words are spread; so you find some people speaking ill of the rulers of the Emirates because of their stance or the rulers of Saudi Arabia because of their stance, with evil and false speech! So some people spread this generally, we say that this is not permissible because it results in the spreading of this falsehood and this corruption. As for sending it to the one who knows and understands, so that he knows the reality of the affair, then it seems to me – and Allaah knows best – that there is no problem in this.
And in fact you become amazed from people who claim wasatiyyah, i‘tidaal (moderation), etc. You find them now speaking with clear and straight takfeer or indirectly suggesting [that they are disbelievers] and despising the Muslims. And speaking honestly, you find those who claim to have knowledge despising the rulers of the Emirates, despising the people of the Emirates, despising the police of the Emirates or despising the rulers of Saudi Arabia. And his speech contains much of this, and there is no doubt that his speech is from falsehood and great evil, which exposes the different kinds of people and clarifies their realities. There are many who claim to be upon wasatiyyah and i‘tidaal (moderation) and [claim to be] accurate in their speech, and in these events it becomes apparent that he is the most daring of the people [to violate] the honour of the Muslims. Why? Because they opposed him in his desires, and not [judging] from a correct Islamic perspective.
In any case: we ask Allaah – the Mighty and Majestic – to remove this calamity, to grant the people of Egypt security and peace, to aid the intelligent ones to cooperate upon warding off the evils of this fitnah and to give success to our rulers to contribute in establishing the good and keeping away the evil. And Allaah knows best.

The call of Shaykh Sâlih as-Suhaymî to the Egyptians
Shaykh Sâlih as-Suhaymî said:
This is from the signs of the Hour. That which is happening now in the Muslim countries in particular and in the countries of the world [in general], is from the signs of the hour. The Prophet – salla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam – informed us about the large amount of turmoil. Sometimes the killer doesn’t know why he’s killing; he sees the people doing something so he starts shooting. As is the situation of the people of the Arab Frost (instead of Arab Spring); they are shouting to each other and braying – refuge is sought with Allaah – like the braying of the animals! And they hit each other. Why? Because of revolution, because of bread, because of hunger, because of so and so; “we want to redeem so and so”, and the one they want to redeem might be a Taaghoot from the Tawaagheet! And everyone is a shaheed (martyr) [according to them], even if he is a Christian, a Jew or a grave-worshipping polytheist! Everyone is a martyr according to them. Allaah forbid!
It is sad and regrettable that one of the “scholars” of the TV channels – and he has reached an extreme old age – says that they are shuhadaa’ (martyrs)! And he asks for shahaadah (martyrdom)… I myself have not heard him asking for martyrdom. As for him giving a fatwaa that they are martyrs, then I have heard him [saying this]. But it has been said that he says: “O Allaah! Make me a martyr like them!” And this is deviation and misguidance – refuge is sought with Allaah! Have mercy upon yourself, Yaa akhi, worship your Lord! Seek refuge with Allaah, while you are 90 years old or more. And everyone is exposed to death; the old and the young. But you come and beautify falsehood for the people?! And you dare doing the likes of these deeds? Beware, O brothers! Supplicate to Allaah for the Muslim countries where these fitan (trials, tribulations, calamities) are being spread, and supplicate to Allaah that He protects all of the Muslim countries from these fitan, in which the killer doesn’t know why he killed or the killed one why he was killed, except that he will stand before Allaah, carry his head and say to the killer: “Why have you killed me?” He will carry his head in his hands and meet Allaah – the Mighty and Majestic – and say to the killer: “Why have you killed me?”
Besides: why do you participate in this rabble-rousing? Millions [are participating]! Millions! Where is the religion?! Where is the Islaam?! Where is your intellect?!
Yaa akhi: when Sumayyah was killed in a horrible way, the Muslims did not go demonstrate and shout in the streets. When the Jews tried to kill the Prophet – salla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam -, they (i.e. the Prophet and the Companions) did not demonstrate. Instead they went to do Jihaad in the Path of Allaah and drove the Jews out of al-Madeenah, with the command of the Messenger of Allaah – salla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam -.
The issue is not an issue of demonstrations or… You fill up the public squares while the men are mixed with the women, and then raping takes place, violation of honour, zinaa (fornication), khumoor (alcohol), lack of shame, singing and free mixing between men and women! Is this from the religion of Allaah?! By Allaah, verily, the West beautifies this to you, O you dead people who are braying in these public squares!! They bray like the braying of the donkeys! Fear Allaah and return to your houses!! Convey to them this message! Tell them to fear Allaah and to return to their houses!! And to stay in their houses instead of this shouting, braying and barking! Fear Allaah – the Mighty and Majestic – with regards to Egypt, which – by Allaah – is beloved and of great value to us, but to many of its people it (i.e. Egypt) is not beloved and of great value, otherwise they wouldn’t have done these thing to it.
I ask Allaah to protect them from the evil of this fitnah (trial, tribulation, calamity), to return them to their senses and to keep those hiding [agitators] away from them, those who hide between them and excite these dangerous fanatical instincts.
Right now, the West manifests itself: “And we (the West) are reconciling between the Islamic Ahzaab (parties), between the Ahzaab there.” America and other than America (is doing this). You (the West) are the ones who encouraged them [to do this]!! And now they want to interfere, maa-shaa-al-Laah. Even the Jews who are occupying Palestine say: “We want to interfere to reconcile between the clashing groups in those countries.”
O people, fear Allaah! Return to your houses and this problem will be over! And be patient upon your rulers! Correct, we disapprove of their first revolt when they revolted against the first one (i.e. Mubaarak). This act of them is baatil (falsehood). But after they overcame & took power, it is obligatory that we are silent and acknowledge… Yes, we demand through the Legislated ways, not by gathering, killing and breaking into [government] buildings!
They are the Ahzaab in itself! All these Tahazzubaat (partisanships) are baatil (falsehood)! All of it is imitation of the Jews and the Christians, even if they call themselves ‘Islamic Ahzaab’. But I say: right now they have no other choice than to fear Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic! Then: according to their way – even though I do not believe in elections – they should be patient until other elections come, and then they elect other than him. Even though all of these elections in itself are Taaghoot, I do not believe in them!
But, O brothers: convey [this] to them, let them fear Allaah with regards to the blood of their brothers. Let them fear Allaah with regards to their destroyed country! Let them fear Allaah with regards to Egypt! Convey this message to them! Return to your senses! By Allaah, nobody does this; no child, no insane person and no idiot [does this]! Never! These demonstrations are the action of the idiots! The action of the insane people! The action of those who have no intellect at all! And everyone shouts the name of so and so: “Long live so and so, down with so and so.” We ask Allaah for well-being and safety.
And the religion is done; no one calls to the religion of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic! Our brothers, who stayed away from this fitnah – and all praise is due to Allaah -, call to the religion of Allaah and call to the Sunnah. And they are safe from entering into these fitan and from participating in the killing of Muslims and non-Muslims.
I ask Allaah, the Most Generous, to be kind to the Muslim countries, to have mercy upon them and to unite their word upon Tawheed.
Return to the Sunnah, O people of Egypt!! Return to the Tawheed! Get rid of the tombs that are worshipped besides Allaah! Get rid of Hizbiyyah (partisanship) and the Ahzaab (parties)! Return to your Lord, the Glorified and Most High! And unite upon the tahqeeq (actualization) of ‘Laa ilaaha illal-Laah, Muhammadun Rasoolul-Laah”! Convey this call to them, even if [you convey it] through some websites!
I ask Allaah to be kind to the Muslims in every place. And may Allaah raise the rank of our Prophet Muhammed, his family and all of his Companions, grant them peace and bless them.

Found me a Man!
Shaykh ‘Abdul-Qaadir Al-Junayd
There is a problem here in America, O Shaykh, at times a woman from the Muslim women meets a man who is in prison; she begins to deal with him, she visits him, and talks to him on the phone. After love has developed between her and him, she calls the Masjid and says to the Imaam, for example: “I have found a man I want to marry.” And sometimes the man will remain in prison for a long time. So what is your statement and what is your advice about this, O Shaykh, may Allaah bless you?
Firstly, it is not permissible for a Muslim woman to talk to a Kaafir man or Muslim man except if there is a need. If she does talk to him (due to a need) then she talks to him without submissiveness and softness in speech.
Allaah the Majestic and High has forbidden them from that, He said:
فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِالْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ الَّذِي فِي قَلْبِهِ مَرَضٌ
“Then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease (of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery, etc.) should be moved with desire.” (Al-Ahzaab 33:32)
There is no doubt that the speech that is between the male and female Muslim; or between (her and) the foreign man whether he be a Muslim or a Kaafir; that speech with is connected to the affairs of marriage and affairs of love and other than it, all of this is from the soft speech from which Allaah the Glorified and Exalted has prohibited the believing women. Because it makes her submissive and calls her to that which Allaah, the Glorified and Exalted, has prohibited; and (allows for the man) to look at her with the forbidden look. The point is that Allaah has said to all the Muslim women:
فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِالْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ الَّذِي فِي قَلْبِهِ مَرَضٌ وَقُلْنَ قَوْلًا مَعْرُوفًا
“Then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease (of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery, etc.) should be moved with desire, but speak in an honorable manner.” (Al-Ahzaab 33:32)

The Salafi Position Towards What is Occurring in Egypt!
by Shaikh Saalih Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah)
The trials and turmoils that are currently affecting Egypt are not hidden from you. What is your advice to the general masses of Muslims who reside in Egypt and the students of knowledge in these lands?
Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) :
This is Fitnah, and the Muslim should stay far away from trials and tribulations and distance themselves from (Fitan)
They should not speak except about that which involves good for everyone; (they should) speak about that which is good for everyone, which will extinguish the Fitnah and remove this evil from the Muslims.
However, if they are unable to do this; if they are unable to bring about reconciliation between the fighting factions, then they should refrain from this (turmoil) and stay far away from the Fitnah.
There remains for them supplication, as the door of supplication is open. He can supplicate for the Muslims in all places, the people of Egypt and other than them, that Allah provides for them a way out and relief.

This [questioner] from Algeria asks: What is the ruling on specifying the day of Eid for visiting relatives and friends?
Shaykh Muhammad bin Hādī al-Madkhalī:
That is a good action and the relatives are most deserving of maintaining ties, because they are kinsfolk, they are more entitled than others [to this].
So start with them and then visit [the] others after that. That is what is required, that a person begins with his kinsfolk because they have a greater right upon him than others. He should treat them with kindness and if he has time [he can] visit his brothers.
If he achieves [all] that then all praise be to Allah – and if he does not achieve that, then it is not from the Sunnah to do that [anyway]. It is sufficient to meet the people at the Musalla – all praise and thanks be to Allah – and to meet them at the mosques at the five [daily] prayers, that can be achieved and is enough – and all praise and thanks be to Allah.
It is not a condition to visit [friends] at home. But this has become a custom of the people, and in this case the custom is not contradictory to the legislation, they do not claim that it is an act of worship and the reason for that is that it is a day of happiness and joy, so there is no problem in all that. And Allah knows best.

Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan was asked:
‘My mother seeks forgiveness and makes Tasbeeh a hundred times a day for her parents daily, what is the ruling of seeking forgiveness for parents after they have passed away?
The Shaykh answered:
‘This is a good thing, seeking forgiveness for parents and the Muslims, a person seeks forgiveness for himself, his parents and the Muslims, this is a matter which is legislated.
رَّبِّ ٱغۡفِرۡ لِي وَلِوَٰلِدَيَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيۡتِيَ مُؤۡمِنٗا
- My Lord! Forgive me, and my parents, and him who enters my home as a believer- like Nuh – alayhi as-Salaam- said.
واستغفر لذنبك وللمؤمنين والمؤمنات
- Seek forgiveness for your sins and the believing men and women. – Like Allaah said to our Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam.
Seeking forgiveness for a person, his parents, his relatives, and his Muslim brothers, the living and the dead, is a matter which is needed, and a person should do this a lot.’ [Taken from: http://www.alfawzan.af.org.sa/node/13605%5D
