Questioner:
O our Shaykh the question is; was the Shaykh preceded by anyone in declaring some Hadith in Sahih Bukhari to be weak and collecting them in a book. And if this has occurred were you preceded by some of the scholars in that? We would appreciate references may Allah reward you with good.
Shaykh Al Albani:
Define the demonstrative, “in that”; in what? Because your question contains two things. Have you been preceded in classifying some Hadith in Bukhari as weak and did you collect this in a book? So in your question, “have I been preceded in that”, what do you mean? Have I been preceded in classifying some Hadith in Bukhari as weak or have I been preceded in authoring a book containing these weak Hadith?
Questioner: Both
Shaykh Albani:
(Laughs) Both? As for if I was preceded in classifying some Hadith found in Bukhari as weak then this is a reality which is obligatory to acknowledge and it is not permissible to deny it; and there are numerous reasons for this.
First of all; all the Muslims whether they are from the scholars, the students of knowledge or the ignorant Muslims; they are all in agreement that there is no one who is infallible in this religion except the Messenger of Allah peace and blessings are upon him.
And from this we also understand another undeniable conclusion and that is, any book that crosses the mind of a Muslim, or any book title that he hears of, even before he reads the manuscript, it is incumbent that he must have firmly established in his mind that this book will surely contain some errors in it. Because the aforementioned belief states that no one will obtain infallibility except for the Messenger of Allah peace and blessing are upon him.
And on this note it has been narrated that Imam Shafi’i, may Allah be pleased with him said, “Allah has refused to perfect any book except for His own.”
And this is the truth, it is not debatable. So this it the first affair, this is the principle.
As for the applied science concerning this matter; then we, due to the virtue of Allah upon us and upon the people, but most of the people do not know, but most of the people are not grateful. Allah the Exalted has given me firmness in the study of Hadith…its foundation matters, subsidiary matters, its criticisms and collections to the extent that I became grounded with a high level in this science due to the virtue of Allah and His mercy. Also I know the authentic hadiths from the weak, from the fabricated due to my studies of this science. I applied this study to some of the Hadiths that appear in Sahih Al Bukhari. Thus I found that the result of this study that there are some Hadiths that are not considered to be on the grade of Hasan much less the level of Sahih, in Sahih Al Bukhari not to mention Sahih Muslim.
Prophet’s (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) Amazing Advice to Abu Dharr (radhiyallaahu ‘anhu)
Advice to Abu Dharr (Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu)
by Abu Hakeem Bilal Davis @ ah-sp.com
Upon the authority of Abi Dharr – Radhiyallaahu ‘Anhu – who said: “I entered the masjid (on an occassion) and found the Messenger of Allaah – Sallallaahu ‘Alaihi Was Sallam – sitting alone. He said (to me): ‘Oh Abaa Dharr! Indeed the masjid has a greeting and its greeting is to pray two rak’ah, so stand and pray them.’ So I stood and I performed them.
Then I returned and sat with him and said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah!, Indeed you have commanded me with Salaah, so what is Salaah?’
He said: ‘The best (act of worship) sent down! So perform much of it or little! (meaning the choice is yours, but the more of its ‘legislated’ forms you perform the better).’
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! Which action is best?’
He said: ‘To have belief in Allaah and to make Jihaad in his way.‘
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! Which of the believers is most complete in Faith?’
He said: ‘The one that has the best character.’
So I said: ‘Which of the believers has the best Islam?’
He said: ‘The one who the people are safe from his tongue and his hand.’
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah which Salaah is best?’
He said: ‘The one that has the longest standing (I.e for recitation).‘
So I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! Then which migration is best?’
He said: ‘The one that migrates from evil deeds.‘
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah then what is fasting?’
He said: ‘A compulsory action that one is rewarded for, and with Allaah the reward is many times multiplied.’
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! Then which Jihaad is best?’
He said: ‘The one in which one’s riding beast is injured and his (i.e. the warriors) blood is spilt.’
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! Then which charity is best?’
He said: ‘The (Charitable) effort of the one who has little, given secretly to the poor.’
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! Then what is the greatest of that which Allaah has sent down to you?’
He said: ‘Aayatul Kursi.’
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! How many were the Messengers?’
He said: ‘Three hundred and thirteen, a large amount.’
He said: I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! who was the first of them?’
He said: ‘Aadam – ‘Alaihi-salaam.’
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! was he a Prophet that was sent?’
He said: ‘Yes! Allah created him with his hand, then blew his spirit into him, and spoke to him directly!
The intelligent person, as long as his mind has not been overcome (i.e. by mental illness) should have (a number of) periods. A period wherein he calls upon his lord, a period wherein he takes account of himself, a period wherein he reflects upon the creation of Allaah and a period that he spends seeking his needs from food and drink.
Likewise the intelligent person should avoid travel except for three reasons, (to gain) provisions for the hereafter, seeking his livelihood or taking enjoyment in that which is not prohibited.
It is likewise upon the intelligent person to have insight into his era, to proceed towards his affair (i.e. to head diligently towards the affairs that benefit him) and to guard his tongue. And whosoever evaluates his speech in comparison to his actions, will speak little except in that which concerns him.’I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! What were the scrolls of Musaa?’
He said: ‘They were all lessons (and admonitions).
I am amazed at the one who is certain of death, then he is happy. And I am amazed at the one who is certain of the (presence) of the fire then he laughs, and I am amazed at the one who is certain of pre-decree (concerning that which has been allotted to him) then he wears himself out. And I am amazed at the one who sees this world, and how affairs change for its people, then he is tranquil within it. And I am amazed at the one who has certainty that the reckoning is tomorrow yet he doesnt act.’I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! advise me!’
He said: ‘I advise you with the fear of Allaah, for indeed it is the pinnacle of all affairs.’
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! Increase me!’
He said: ‘Cling to reciting the Qur`aan and the remembrance of Allaah, for indeed it is light for you in the life of this world and it is preserved for you in the heavens.‘
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! Increase me!’
He said: ‘Be aware of laughing excessively, for indeed it kills the heart and removes light from the face.’
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! Increase me!’
He said: ‘Make Jihaad, since it is the monasticism of my Ummah’ (meaning that when monasticism revolves around abstention from the world and selflessness there is no greater form of this than that a person participates in battle).
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! Increase me!’
He said: ‘Love the poor, and sit with them.’
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! Increase me!’
He said: ‘Look to those who are lesser than you (i.e. are less well to do) and don’t look to those who are above you (i.e. have more than you) as it is better in preventing one from looking down with disdain at Allaah’ blessings upon you.’
I said: ‘Oh Messenger of Allaah! Increase me!’
He said: ‘Speak the truth even if it is bitter!’
This then is the end of that which is authentic from the hadeeth.
Truly as Imaam Manaawi (rahimahullaah) mentioned concerning the hadeeth: “What an amazing bequest! How beneficial, comprehensive and wonderful! Glad tidings to the one who is granted success in accepting it and acting upon it!“

Saheeh al-Bukhaaree: Great Wisdom in Compiling and Arranging of Hadeeth and Chapters
In the name of Allah, and all praise belongs to Allah. May salutation and
blessing also be bestowed upon the Messenger.
Book : Saheeh al-Bukhaaree
Section: The Book of Knowledge
Teacher: Shaikh Muhammad Muhammadi an-Nooristaani
On the 24th of Rabee’ at-Thaanee of the year 1433 coinciding with the 17th of March of the year 2012, we benefited the following from the esteemed Shaikh, Muhammad Muhammadi an-Nooristaani, may Allah preserve him:
The Saheeh of al-Bukhaaree is the most authentic book on the face of the earth after the Noble Qur’aan. The author took great care in compiling and arranging his Saheeh. There is no word that he placed inside of it except due to a wisdom. His choice of words, in all of its brevity, often shows his excellence in the Arabic language and the depth of his Fiqh. There is even extensive wisdom in the sequence of order he chose for each Hadeeth. Rather, there is even superb scholarship in the order he entitled the books of his Saheeh.
al-Bukhaaree, may Allah bestow mercy upon him, began his Saheeh with the Book of the Beginning of Revelation since revelation takes precedence over all matters in the religion and it is the source of our religion itself. Thereafter, he brings the Book of Eemaan (Faith) as revelation causes us to have proper belief and correct belief is based upon revelation. And From Eemaan (Faith) is Tawheed (Islamic Monotheism).
So due to the importance of Tawheed (Islamic Monotheism), he ends his Saheeh with the Book of Tawheed (Islamic Monotheism) bringing us back to the same Eemaan (Faith) we began with. After Eemaan (Faith), is the Book of Knowledge since one’s belief must be based upon legislative knowledge and knowledge must precede speech and action which are two of the three most integral components of Eemaan (Faith). Succeeding the Book of Knowledge, the author, may Allah bestow mercy upon him, then delves into the actions of Islaam showing that actions are from Eemaan beginning with purification and the prayer.
Of course this poses a question to us. If amazing benefits such as these can be extracted simply from the arrangement of the titles of his books within his Saheeh, what does one think about the vast ocean of knowledge that must be contained within the books themselves?!
We ask Allah, the Mighty, the Majestic, that He allows us to truly benefit from this work granting us sincerity therein. We ask Allah that he showers our teachers in his mercy. And We ask Allah to grant never ending reward to the authors of the works we are studying from.
