Advice to those who are Tried with Watching Porn – Shaykh ‘Abdur-Razzaaq ibn ‘Abdul-Muhsin Al-Badr

Advice to those who are Tried with Watching Porn
Shaykh ‘Abdur-Razzaaq ibn ‘Abdul-Muhsin Al-Badr

Question:

May Allaah reward you and may Allaah bless you. May Allaah benefit us with that which we have heard; and may Allaah forgive us, you, and all the Muslims. This questioner, O Shaykh, says: I implore you, by Allaah, to ask this question (for me). He says in his question: O, Shaykh, give me advice, for by Allaah, I am upon the brink of the Hellfire. For I have been addicted, O Shaykh, to pornography websites since last year. Every time I repent I return to it again. By Allaah, the thing which I hate the most is these sites, but they overpower me every time and they are the reason for my failure. I used to be very successful in my work and in my studies, however, now I am in a state of loss.

Answer:

Firstly, I say, just as ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattaab, may Allaah be pleased with him, has said: “Supplicate to Allaah the Blessed and High that He turns the heart of your brother; that He guides him and accepts his repentance.” So we ask Allaah the Mighty and Majestic, the Generous, Lord of the Great Throne, that He guide him and accept his repentance; and that He makes us and him firm with the firm statement and that He give us refuge from the evil of our souls and the evil of our actions.

I advise you, O noble brother, with one piece of advice; always be mindful of it, for in it is salvation for you. It is the greatest admonition. Always bear in mind that Allaah, the Lord of all that exists, sees you and that He, Glorified and Exalted be He, is looking at you. If you are alone within the house on any day, then do not say: I am alone; but say: There is a Raqeeb (Watcher i.e. Allaah) over me. When you sit, in this seclusion with this screen on the internet and you begin to enter those sites and you think that no one from the people can see you, then know that the Lord of all that exists is looking at you.

أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرَى

Knows he not that Allaah does see (what he does)? (Al-’Alaq 96:14)

In this verse is a rebuke for you; treat yourself with it; rebuke yourself by way of the Qur’aan. There is not harm if you put this verse upon your room in front of you so that you can look at it and it can deter you and rebuke you from that matter, which there is not to be seen nor will you find therein any result that will benefit you. Rather, you have been affected in your studies, in your manners, in your worship, in your performance; there is no beneficial fruit in it. This is what the enemies of the religion desire; when they make the likes of these despicable, licentious, and harmful films; so that the children of the Muslims become lost; and the children of the Muslims become like cattle. Rather, they are even more astray; in the following of desires and urges, deviations and misguidances.

Due to this, have Taqwaa of Allaah the Mighty and Majestic, and make yourself constant in turning to Allaah the Glorified and High, and in sincere Tawbah to Allaah the Mighty and Majestic.

This device, I do not say to you to-if this is your state-to utilize it for permissible affairs; rather, I say: REVOVE IT FROM THE HOUSE COMPLETELY. Remove it from the house completely; and it should not remain with you even for a second. Tonight, remove it from your house; because its presence is an apparent corruption for you. It should not remain with you in hopes of benefitting from it in useful ways. Rather, remove it from your house completely and close off this door of evil from yourself and turn to Allaah the Glorified and High.

We ask Allaah to turn your heart and to accept your repentance, and to accept all of our repentance; and to guide us all to the (straight) path; and to rectify for us all of our affairs; indeed He, Blessed and Exalted be He, is the All-Hearing, Ever-Responsive, and Ever-Near.

(Must Read) Words Worthy of Golden Ink

It was narrated upon Shaqeeq al-Balkhi (rahimahullah) that he said to Hatim:
“You have accompanied me for a while so what have you learnt from me?”

He said:“ I have learnt from you 8 things:

Firstly: I looked at the creation and found that every person has something which is beloved to him and when he reaches his grave this beloved thing is cut off from him. So I have made my beloved, my good deeds so that it will remain with me in the grave.

Secondly:  I looked at the saying of Allah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) :

“And as for him who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained himself from impure evil desires and lusts”

So I strove against my soul defending it from desires until it settled upon obedience to Allah.

Thirdly: I saw that everyone who has something precious safeguards it (with much care), so then I looked at the saying of Allah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala):

“And that which you have will perish and that which is with Allah will remain”

So whenever I came across something which I found to be precious I directed it to Him so that it will remain with Him for me.

Fourthly: I saw that the people were depending upon their wealth, nobility and dignity, which are all nothing (in reality) so I looked at the saying of Allah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala):

“Indeed the most honorable of you in the sight of Allah are those who are most pious amongst you”

So I proceeded upon taqwa in order to gain an honorable standing with him (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) .

Fifthly: I saw the people being jealous of each other so I looked at the saying of Allah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala):

“We have divided between them their livelihood”

So I abandoned jealousy because it is in opposition to the destiny of Allah.

Sixthly: I saw them having enmity between themselves so I looked at the saying of Allah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala):

“Indeed the Satan is an enemy for you so take him as your enemy”

So I abandoned this enmity and took the shaytaan as my sole enemy.

Seventhly: I saw them resorting to shameful measures in search for provision so I looked at the saying of Allah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala):

“And there is not a creature on the Earth except that Allah provides for it”.

So I engaged myself (in establishing) His rights that He (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) has over me and entrusted what is mine, with him, in assurance of his promise.

Eighthly: I saw them relying (solely) upon their trade and products and strong healthy bodies but I put my trust in Allah the lord of the worlds.

Some Valuable Advice To Those Using The Internet and How should the woman behave when it comes to the internet?- Shaykh Ubaid Al-Jabiri

Some Valuable Advice To Those Using The Internet
Shaykh Ubaid Al-Jabiri (hafidhahullaah)

The first question oh Shaykh, May Allah preserve you:

What is your advice to those people who use the internet bearing in mind the evils that have occurred there lately?

The internet as it appears to me, rather I am certain that it is a double bladed sword. It is obligatory upon those who use the internet not to be excessive. As some people spend many hours on there. Maybe staying awake for many nights and the time of fajr passes them by or other than it from the obligatory acts.

They might pray Fajr with the congregation but possibly they miss other things which are an obligation upon them. This is a mistake.

Likewise we advise them not to follow everything that it is spread on the internet, as the majority of time what a person spends on the NET is wasteful.

Or he might find that which contains no benefit.

I advise them to benefit themselves with knowledge of the religion and not to fill their time with that which is spread on the NET except if it is religious knowledge that will give them some understanding of the religion of Allah.

This is my advice, may Allah bless you.

How should the woman behave when it comes to the internet?

We also warn the women against spending too much time sitting on the Net because the woman will come across more articles than the men, especially if she visits the different sites and loves to view what is being spread on each web site, and in reality this is very dangerous for her.

Also if she spreads something (upon the net) then she is exposing herself to be harmed by the sick hearted from amongst the men.

I advise those who have the ability to do so, to rarely use this internet. And if she was to use it, then to visit those trustworthy sites where only the Salafis post. And if she was to post (something) then she should only spread that which can be benefited from, like biographies of some of the noble people of knowledge and Imams or a piece of research relating to a fiqh issue that everyone can benefit from.

As for her taking it upon herself to do that which the men undertake from refutations and replying to various statements then this would expose her to an unpleasant result. It is possible that men with sick hearts might enter using female names, and their intent behind that is to harm the believing women.

I hold that it is better for religion and honor not to enter this (arena). Her noble brothers from the people of knowledge will suffice her, but if she uses the internet then with the guidelines (mentioned earlier).

Some Tremendous Scholarly Benefits – Relayed by student Abu Remlah Adam Lazerus (hafidhahullaah)

Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillaah wa salatu wa salaamu ‘ala rasulullaah

Amma-ba’d

Some Tremendous Scholarly Benefits
Relayed by student Abu Remlah Adam Lazerus (hafidhahullaah)

- Simple yet Tremendous Advice from the Salaf

Abul ‘Aaliyah (d. 93H, rahimahullaah) said:

“Upon you is (to stick to) the First Affair which they used to be upon BEFORE the people split (and deviated).”

Ibn ‘Abbaas  (radiallaahu ‘anhumma) advised Uthman Al-Azdi:

“Upon you is to have Taqwaa of Allaah and uprightness; FOLLOW and do NOT innovate.” شرح السنة للبغوي

- The Importance of Tawheed & Rectification of ‘Aqeedah

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee (hafidhahullaah) said:

The Prophet (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) did NOT care about establishing the state (a government), rather he only gave care to establishing at-Tawheed!

- Ahlus-Sunnah Do not Betray the Truth

Shaykh Abu Muhammad Ahmad Subay’ee (hafidhahullaah) said:

A person of Sunnah may fall short and may sin [it's possible], but he doesn’t betray the Truth, like Ahl-Ahwa` (people of desires & bidah) betray it.

- The Importance of Sincerity and a Warning against what opposes it

Shaikh Abu ‘Uthmaan Muhammad Al-Anjaaree (hafidhahullaah) said:

There’s a difference between (one) who wants to spread the Truth & between (one) who wants his status to be raised due to spreading the Truth.

Shaikh Abu ‘Uthmaan Muhammad Al-Anjaaree (hafidhahullaah) said:

Do not use your Religion or your ‘Aqeedah as a bridge to attain your wordly goals. Allaah is the most not in need of Shirk!

- Clarity in The Religion – distinction between truth and falsehood – and closing the door to any confusion

Shaykh Abu Muhammad Ahmad Subay’ee (hafidhahullaah) said:

To say generally “go to the people of knowledge” doesn’t provide guidance to the creation. We must name them as the Salaf did – after the fitnah occurred - as in Sahih Muslim: “Name us your men.” So now, name for us: who are the trustworthy carriers of knowledge whom you guide the youth to? So it is necessary that we name Shaikh Rabee’ bin Haadee al-Madkhalee, Shaikh ‘Ubaid al-Jaabiree, Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan, and other than them upon their way, so people won’t be upon ignorance and confusion.

Shaikh Muhammad Nasir-ud-Deen al-Albaanee (rahimahullaah) said:

“Verily, the true Religion of Islaam separates, and that is because the Qur`an separates. It separates between truth and falsehood, and our da’wah separates between truth and falsehood. And due to that, our Da’wah – which is the da’wah of truth – separates between the person of truth and the person of falsehood. And that is what the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) did when he came with his da’wah.”

Shaikh Rabee’ bin Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) said:

Upon you is to have (تميز) differentiation in your da’wah. Ahl-Sunna MUST clarify Truth which differentiates between them & ahl-bidah.

Shaykh Abu Muhammad Ahmad Subay’ee (hafidhahullaah) said:

Whoever only wants to confront outright falsehood, then most of the time he doesn’t strive to make the Truth clear & apparent.

- Beware of Ahlul-Bid’ah and their deceptions, false claims, tricks, lies…

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) said:

Dr. Ibraheem Ruhayli – and those like him – deceive the Salafees and the beginner students of knowledge, so due to that we say:  They are people of doubts; it is not permissible to:

* sit with them
* or listen to them
* or take knowledge from them.

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee (hafidhahullaah) said:

In this time, they come with a new Manhaj, saying, ‘so and so is Salafee or Sunni, but he has mistakes.’ But when you look into his mistakes, you see he is a Kharijee or Rafidee by speaking bad about the sahaaba, or Jahmee. So this claim of theirs (that he is Salafee) is false. [Sharh Ibaana Sughraa]

Ibn ‘Awn (d.151H, rahimahullaah) said:

“Those who sit with ahl-bidah are MORE SEVERE upon us than ahl-bidah themselves.”

Shaykh ‘Ubaid ibn ‘Abdullaah al-Jaabiree (hafidhahullaah) said:

Nothing has strengthened many of ahl-bidah today as much as the excuses made for them by some who claim to be from Ahl-Sunnah!

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee Al-Madkhali (hafidhahullaah) said:

Theseجمعيات (dawah organizations) STEAL PEOPLE’S ‘AQEEDAH by giving them money!

- From Jihaad in the way of Allaah

Shaykh Ahmad ibn Yahya An-Najmee (rahimahullaah) said:

Seeking knowledge of the Qur`an, Sunnah & way of Salaf FROM SALAFI SCHOLARS is from striving in the Path of Allaah.

Shaykh Ahmad ibn Yahya An-Najmee (rahimahullaah) said:

Striving against ahl-bidah, and clarifying their danger and corruption is from striving in the Path of Allaah.

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee (hafidhahullaah) said:

Ibn Battah (rahimahullaah) listed names of imams of misguidance, even though they were dead and gone, so that all who live after can beware of their books.

- A Warning against Refusing to Aid the Truth

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) said:

As for the mukathilah (those who don’t aid the truth and its people) today, they are treacherously attacking Ahlus-Sunnah. By Allaah, they are more harmful than those who are originally people of Bid’ah, whose bid’ah is apparent (those who don’t hide their bid’ah). The Salaf used to warn against those who sit with Ahlul-Bid’ah, so what about someone who takes Ahlul-Bid’ah as companions and defends them. There is no doubt he is from Ahlul-Bid’ah; he openly defends them.

Shaikh Abu ‘Uthmaan Muhammad Al-Anjaaree (hafidhahullaah) said:

From the enemies of Ahlus-Sunnah are al-mukhaithilah (those who don’t aid the truth and its people), and from al-mukhaithilah are those sick with a hidden desire: the disease of loving fame, leadership, and finding status for oneself.

[For an amazing read, click here: A Beautiful Prohibition to the Person of Sunnah by Shaykh Ahmad as-Subay'ee ]

- No one is above the truth!

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee (hafidhahullaah) said:

When we mention Abu Hanifa’s opposition to the hadeeth, it doesn’t mean we disgrace him, but the hadeeth are greater to our hearts.

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee (hafidhahullaah) said:

The one who speaks without knowledge should be advised; if he doesn’t accept, he should be boycotted & abandoned إبانةصغرى

- The importance of Following the Sunnah, and the Deviance of those who prevent it!

Shaikh Muhammad Ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) relayed that Imam Ahmad (rahimahullaah) said:

“Whoever prohibits people from raising their hands during the prayer (at the start of the prayer, before ruku’, and after ruku’) is an Innovator!

‘Abdullaah Ibn ‘Umar (radiallaahu ‘ahumma) would gather pebbles to throw at whoever he saw not raising his hands during the prayer – to show his rejection of them – because they opposed the Sunnah of Muhammad (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).” [Sharh Ibaana Sughraa]

Ibn Abi Dawood (d. 316 H, rahimahullaah) said:

The people of opinion are people of bid’ah. —-> Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee (hafidhahullaah) said: Verily, bid’ah is the result of opinion.

- How Evil are Ahlul-Bid’ah! They Hate Hadeeth!

Baqiyyah said: “[Imam] Al-Awza’ee said to me:

‘Oh Abu Muhammad. What do you say about a people who hate the hadeeth of their Prophet?’ So I said: ‘They are an evil people.’

Then Al-Awza’ee said:

There’s not a person of bid’ah that you tell him a hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah (salaallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) that opposes his bid’ah except that he hates the hadeeth!”

[Sharf AsHabul-Hadeeth al-Khateeb]  [So instead of repenting and freeing himelf from his bid'ah and hating his bid'ah, he chooses instead to hate revelation! How evil are Ahlul-Bid'ah!!]

Shaykh Abu Muhammad Ahmad Subay’ee (hafidhahullaah) said:

From the virtues and tremendous Mercy and Generosity of Allaah is that all the Imams of the Arabic language were likewise Imams from Ahlus-Sunnah until the 3rd Generation. So the correct understanding of the meanings of the Qur`an and Sunnah were preserved how the Sahaaba understood them. Then Ahlul-Bid’ah saw how they can use the language to mis-interpret the meanings of the text to lead the people astray. They also translated the bid’ah of the disbelievers and clothed it in Arabic.

Shaykh ‘Ubaid ibn ‘Abdullaah al-Jaabiree (hafidhahullaah) said:

And all the new da’wah groups are opponents to Salafiyyah, and they are all enemies to the Sunnah. This is because they are astray and lead others astray. And what is sufficient as a proof of their misguidance is that they have all been established upon the statements of mankind and the foundations laid by mankind… But as for Salafiyyah, it has no founder from amongst mankind, rather it is from Allaah! It was [conveyed] by the Prophets and Messengers.

- Loving for Allaah’s Sake

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) said:

1- Love & Hate for Allaah’s sake is a tremendous foundation of Eeman in the books of ‘Aqeedah; it is WAJIB on the Muslim to pay CLOSE attention!

2- Must Love for Allaah’s sake (the one) who is upright on obedience to Allaah & His Messenger (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) - EVEN IF no relation (to you), far away & against you in worldly matters!

3- Must Hate for Allaah (the one) who opposes Allaah & His Messenger (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), or befriends opposers EVEN IF (he is) close relative (of yours) or aids you in worldly matters إبانةصغرى

- Tazkiya is upon knowledge

Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) said:

Don’t recommend & praise someone EXCEPT UPON KNOWLEDGE…If only those who recommend people would stop doing that. شرح السنة#

- Reasons for Deviance!

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee (hafidhahullaah) said:

Everyone who has left the path of Ahl-Sunnah has [left] due to his sitting with the people of desires & innovations. إبانةصغرى

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee (hafidhahullaah) said:

If you sit with a person of bidah, it’s your first step to becoming from ahl-bidah & leaving Ahl-Sunnah; your Deen has weakened.

Abu Qulaabah (d.107 H, rahimahullaah) said:

Verily the people of desires(bid’ah) are people of misguidance, and I only see that their path leads to the Hellfire.

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee (hafidhahullaah) said:

Da’wah to ahl-bidah does NOT necessitate any friendship or keeping company with them or prolonged sitting with them.

- Cheating and Deceiving the Ummah

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee (hafidhahullaah) said:

If you’re asked about one you know has been refuted, but you remain silent, then you have CHEATED the ummah of Muhammad (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).  إبانة

 Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) said:

Remaining silent about ahlul-bid’a is the greatest ghish (deception) of the Muslims, and is not permissible!

- Harming the perception of Islaam, making themselves obstacles in the spread of Islaam

Shaykh ‘Ubaid ibn ‘Abdullaah al-Jaabiree (hafidhahullaah) said:

During the first three virtuous generations, thousands – if not Millions – had entered Islaam out of love for it and love for its people. And they saw how Islaam preserved their rights, wealth and lives. They saw in it justice and that the Muslims ruled with justice, and a Muslim couldn’t oppress a disbeliever. If a disbeliever had a right taken by a Muslim, he could take him to a judge and get his right. So are the Khawaarij who (falsely) claim to be “Ahlus-Sunnah” upon this? Never!!

Amazing Story | Story of a Bird and Sufyān ath-Thawrī [rahimahullaah]

Imām al-Dhahabī mentions the following story in his entry for Sufyān ath-Thawrī:

”ʻAlī b. ʻAbd al-ʻAzīz said, Arim narrated to us saying, I went to Abū Manṣūr to visit him, he said to me,

‘Sufyān resided in this house, and there was here a nightingale belonging to my son. He (Sufyān) said, ‘Why is this locked up (in a cage)? It should be freed.’ I said, ‘It belongs to my son, and he gives it to you as a gift.’ Sufyān said, ‘No, I will give him a dinar for it.’ He said, ‘He then took it and freed it, and it would go out and return in the evening, and would be at the far end of the house. When Sufyān died, it followed his funeral procession and was flying over his grave. After this on some nights it would go to his grave, and sometimes would spend the night there, and sometimes would return back home. They then found it dead by his grave and it was buried alongside Sufyān.”’

(Inspirational) The Advice of Asmaa bint Abu Bakr (radiallaahu anha) to her son Abdullah Ibn Zubair (radhi Allaahu anhu)

December 5, 2012 Leave a comment

From the tape “The life of Abdullah Ibn Zubair-By Shaikh Muhammed Anjaree”.

Below are the words of advise Asmaa bint Abu Bakr radiallaahu anha gave to her son at the age of over 100 years and he himself was over 60 years of age defending this deen and Allah (subhanna wa ta ala) had granted them the preservation of their faculties and vigour! May Allah Have Mercy upon them.Ameen.

**************************

The last stage of Abdullah Ibn Zubair life, and that was when he fought against Hajjaj, which was in the year beginning 70 A.H. Mekkah at that time was surrounded by Hajjajs’ Army and they had laid siege to Mekkah for approximately one and a half years……..

When he entered into Mekkah he (Hajjaj) sent a letter to Abdullah Ibn Zubair saying you have three choices;

  1. You can be taken and chained to Abdul Malik who was then the Khalifah of Damascus.
  2. Or leave by yourself and give up all the lands that he had overcome like Egypt, Iraq, Yemen /leave the Khalifa.
  3. Or continue fighting.

So he had these three chooses from Hajjaj. He then went to his mother (Asma bint Abu Bakr radiallaahu anha) who was still alive for advice and she was over a hundred years. So Abdullah Ibn Zubair said, to his mother,

“So the people have left me by myself, even my own son, no-one is with me except a handful of people all I have is an hour of patience and then death and if I were to do what the people want me to do then I will be free.”

So then Asmaa (radiallaahu anha) replied to her son, she said,

“You know better in your own self that if you are upon the truth and you are calling towards the truth go forth for people more honourable than you were killed and have been killed and if you are not upon the truth, then what an evil son you are, you have destroyed yourself and those who are with you. If you say what you say, that if you are upon the truth and you will be killed at the hands of others then you will not truly be free, for this is not the statement of someone who is free”.

Then she said to her son, this is the statement of the mother to her son,

“how long will you live in this world, death is more beloved to me than this state you are on/ this state of weakness.”

Then this conversation between Abdullah Ibn Zubair and his mother continued.

Then he said to his mother after she had told him to go forth and fight.

He said, “I am afraid I will be mutilated by the people of Sham,I am afraid that they will cut up my body after they have killed me”

So she said to her son,”after someone has died it won’t make any difference what they do to you if you have been killed.”

Abdullah Ibn Zubair then said to his mother,”I did not come to you except to increase myself in knowledge.” The shaikh wanted to point out, look at the manners which he presented towards his mother, this was the manners of the Salaf how they would behave towards their parents.

He said to her, “I did not come to you except to increase me in knowledge, look and pay attention to this day for verily I am a dead man, your son never drank wine, nor was he fornicator, nor did he wrong any Muslim or Kaafir, nor was he unjust, I am not saying this to you to show off or show how pure I am but rather as an honour to you.”

So then  Abdullah Ibn Zubair  left by himself on his horse and he was killed by the Army of Hajjaj and when he was killed by the Army of Hajjaj all the Army said “Allah hu Akhbar” and Ibn Umer (radiallaahu anhu) heard this and he said,
” how strange is it that this man when he was born all of the Muslims said “Allah hu Akhbar” and now that he is killed everyone is also saying “Allah hu Akhbar”.

Then Hajjaj crucified him and said,” No one must put down his body except Asmaa (radiallaahu anha ), she must come to me and ask permission of me and only then will his body be put down”.

Asmaa (radiallahu anha.) refused to go and ask permission to put down her sons body and it was said to her,
“if you don’t go his body will remain like that.” So she said ” let it be then”.

Until eventually, Hajjaj came to her and said,

“what do you say about this matter ” and she said,

” Verily you have destroyed him you have ruined his life and with that you have ruined your hereafter.”

Allaah Swears by these 10 Days, Odd and Even

October 21, 2012 Leave a comment

Allaah Swears by these 10 Days, odd and even

Allaah swears by these days.

1. By the dawn;
2. By the ten nights (i.e. the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah),
3. And by the even and the odd .

[al-Fajr, ayat 1-3]

The Prophet (salallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said,

The ten are the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah and the odd is the Day of Arafah and the even is the Eid.

[Ahmad 3/327, and Bazzar 2286]. Ibn Rajab (rahimahullaah) graded the isnad of this hadeeth as being Hasan.

The Correct Stance of Every Muslim on the Film about Muhammed (peace be upon him) – Shaykh Saalih as-Suhaymee

September 20, 2012 1 comment

Published on 20 Sep 2012 by
Shaykh Saalih as-Suhaymee – Teacher at the Prophet’s Masjid in Madeenah

Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillaah wa salatu wa salaamu ‘ala rasulullaah
Amma-ba’d

Shaikh Saalih as-Suhaymee (hafidhahullaah Ta’aala) said:

“Firstly, there is no doubt that abusing the Prophets is not tolerated by any religion or intellect, and I do not think those intellectuals in those non-Islaamic countries accept this (film) either. And Allaah has raised the mention of our Prophet (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), so we are not in need of anyone to clarify his status for us after (what has been stated) about his mention in the Qur`an and Sunnah.

[Allaah said to His Messenger ('alayhi as-salatu wa salaam:]

وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ
And (have We not) raised high your fame? (Ash-Sharh, ayah 4)

No one approves of this behavior, and I do not think that even those countries would approve of such acts as this. The Mufti has issued a clarification in the Kingdom of Sa’udia Arabia, denouncing that vile film – which does not harm anyone except those who produced it. It does not harm the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) at all, for indeed Allaah Tabarak wa Ta’aala has honored him and revered him.

Therefore, if anyone abuses the Prophets (such as Muhammad, Jesus, Moses, Abraham, Noah, etc…), then that does not mean the Prophets are harmed due to it; rather the person (who abuses them) is harmed and he will receive the evil repercussions. So it is upon us as Muslims to deal with such events according to the Islaamic legislation.

Therefore, the demonstrations and the storming of the embassies or the killing of innocent people – who are not involved in these affairs – is an evil deed according to us Muslims. We do not approve of this in any circumstance, and this is not from our religion and it is not from our legislation. Thus, the storming of the embassies is not from our religion nor is the killing of so and so ambassador nor is assaulting others a part of our Religion, al-Haneef (The [only] Monotheistic Religion [Islaam]).

Our religion is a religion of peace; our religion is a religion of goodness. Our religion prohibits assaulting others. Our religion prohibits abusing others. Our religion gives the due right to its people (whether) Muslim or non-Muslim. And that which we hold to be from our Religion is that these chaotic actions that are carried out by some of the youth do not represent the religion of Islaam or the Muslim population.

Rather, these actions are the result of their emotions and that is not tolerated from them. And we denounce such actions with every kind of denouncing. Just as we have extremely denounced this film and its likes which was produced by those rabbles from those countriesm whom have only harmed themselves before harming the Messenger (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

The disbelieving Quraish used to abuse the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), the would call him blameworthy, a poet, and sorcerer and called him whatever they called him (from the vile nicknames), they wounded his head, they broke his molar tooth, and they placed the intestines of a camel on top of his head. They did what they did, however the Muslims (the companions) did not protest or storm or kill, because this does not serve the Religion of Allaah, Subhanahu wa Ta’aala.

So I want the youth to understand that they should return back to the scholars who are well cultivated in this issue, those who refute the distortion of the extremists and (refute) those who (distort) the text (Qur`an and Sunnah) to suit their desires, and likewise the ignorant who misinterpret the text.

There is no doubt that the killing of the innocent – whether a Muslim or non-Muslim – is prohibited, and our Religion does not tolerate it, especially if there is a treaty between us and them, like peace treaties or an agreement between us and them.

This is the Sunnah of Allaah with His creation. So the ambassador serves as an emissary to another country, and the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) did not kill (the emissaries) of Caesar and the king of Persia and other than those who were upon the same religion as them. So it is obligatory upon us to understand these affairs. Protests are not from the Religion of Allaah, Subhanahu wa Ta’aala; rather it is a symbol of demagogism which the Religion of Allaah does not tolerate.

And we – by Allaah – love Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) more than we love ourselves and our families and our parents and our children and all the people together. However, this love should not cause us to go beyond the boundaries which (Allaah) has laid down for us from the legislated rulings of Islaam. (It should not make us) enter into the religion that which is not part of it.

The Prophet (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) warned against killing the one who holds a covenant with the Muslims, or the one who is under the protection of the Muslims, or the one who is under a peace treaty with the Muslims.

The ambassador is considered to be just like the one who is under a peace treaty with the Muslims, and assaulting him is in opposition to the guidance of the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), who said: Whoever kills a person under a covenant will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.

And that ruling is also applicable to the one who is under the protection of the Muslims and Dhimee (Jews and Christians who live under the law and protection of the Muslims).

So those people are under our protection in our lands; it is not permissible to violate them with any type of violence. It is obligatory to return to the scholars in this affair as I have said, those who will judge according to the truth and justice. As for dealing with this matter with uncontrolled emotions, then we should place boundaries upon this and free ourselves from it and from its practitioner.”

Did the lady from Banee Israa’eel get what she asked for…..(Paradise)?

Shaykh Albanee in As-Saheehah (no. 313) :

Aboo Ya’laa reported in his ‘Musnad’ (3/441), and al-Haakim (2/404-405 and 571-572), through three chains from Yoonus ibn Abee Ishaaq: from Aboo Burdah: from Aboo Moosaa who said:

‘The Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) came to a bedouin who treated him generously, so he said to him: ‘Come to us.’ So he came to him, Allaah’s Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said [and in one narration: Allaah's Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) stopped off  as a guest with a bedouin, and he treated him generously. So Allaah's Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said to him: 'We will remember this, so come to us.'
So later the bedouin came to him, and Allaah's Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said:

'Ask for whatever you need.' so he said: 'A she-camel with its saddle, and some goats which my wife can milk.'

So Allaah's Messenger said: 'Are you unable to be like the old woman of the Banoo Israa.eel?'

[So his Companions said: 'O Messenger of Allaah! And what does 'the old woman of the Banoo Israa.eel' refer to?'  He (Peace be upon him) said:

'When Moosaa left Egypt at night with the Banoo Israa.eel they lost their way. So he said: 'What is wrong?' So their learned men said:['We shall tell you.] When death came to Yoosuf he took a solemn agreement from us in Allaah’s Name that we would not depart from Egypt until we carried his body along with us.’ He said: ‘Then who knows the place of his grave?’ [They said: None of us knows where the grave of Yoosuf is, except for ] an old woman of the Banoo Israa.eel. So he sent for her, and she came to him.

He said: ‘Guide me to the grave of Yoosuf.’ She said: ['No, by Allaah! I will not do so] until you grant me my reward.’ He said: ‘And what reward do you want?’ She said: ‘That I should be with you in Paradise.’ So he disliked to grant her that, but Allaah revealed to him: ‘Grant her her due reward”. So she went with them to a pond: a place where water gathered, and she said: ‘Drain this water away.’ So they drained it. She said: ‘Dig, and extract the body of Yoosuf.’ So when they lifted it out and placed it upon the ground the path suddenly became bright like the light of day.’

The context is Aboo Ya’laa’s, and the (bracketed) additions along with the other narrations are al-Haakim’s, and he said; ‘Saheeh’ to the standard of the two Shaikhs, and Ahmad and Ibn Ma’een judged that Yoonus heard the hadeeth ‘There is no marriage except with a guardian’ from Aboo Burdah.’ And adh-Dhahabee agreed.

And I say: It is to the standard of Muslim alone, since al-Bukhaaree did not report any of Yoonus’s narrations in his ‘Saheeh’, but rather in his ‘Juz.ul-Qiraa’ah…..’
