Recitation by Sheikh Sa`ad Said Al-Ghamdi.
Translation by Al-Hilali & Muhammad Muhsin Khan.
The most hated speech to Allaah is when a man says to another man, ‘Fear Allaah!’ and he replies, ‘Worry about your own self!’ “
On the authority of ‘Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood (radhiyallaahu ‘anhu), the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) said:
“Verily the most beloved speech to Allaah is the servant’s saying, ‘Subhaanak Allaahumma wa bihamdika wa tabaarakasmuka wa ta’aalaa jad-duka wa laa ilaaha ghayruk.’ (Glorified are you, O Allaah, and to you is the praise, Blessed is Your Name and Lofty is your Majesty, there is none worthy of worship other than you.) The most hated speech to Allaah is when a man says to another man, ‘Fear Allaah!’ and he replies, ‘Worry about your own self!’ “
It was reported by Al-Asbahaanee in At-Targheeb (739), and Al-Albaanee authenticated it in Silsilatul-Ahaadeethis-Saheehah (2598).

Two Beautiful Transmissions From Shaikh Falaah and Shaikh Abdullaah Al-Bukhaari
In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy
Sheikh Falaah Ismaa-eel (may Allaah preserve him) says that his Sheikh, Sheikh Muhammad Amaan al Jaami (Rahimahullaah) said: ”The one who is not able to exercise patience in the path of knowledge will not be able to exercise patience in worship; and the one who is not able to exercise patience in worship will not be able to exercise patience in the path of calling to Allaah.” [1]
Shaikh Abdullaah Al-Bukhaari (may Allaah preserve him) said that their shaikh Al-Allaamah Muhammad Amaan Al-Jaami (rahimahullaah) said: ‘’Rectification is more cumbersome than enactment.’’ [2]

An Amazing Affair From The Dawah of Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah
In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy
Ibn Abdul Haadee (rahimahullaah) said:
When he [shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah)] entered prison, he found the prisoners pre-occupied with various types of games with which they pass the time, such as chess, backgammon and the likes, of (those things that lead) to neglect of the five daily prayers.
So the Shaikh [Ibn Taymiyyah(rahimahullaah)] severely disapproved of that from them. He commanded them to adhere to the five daily prayers and to turn to Allaah through performance of righteous deeds, glorification of Allaah, seeking forgiveness for their sins and supplication.
He made them acquainted with what they were in need of from the Sunnah. He awakened their desire for it and urged them towards it, until a lot of good came about in the prison due to that which was (present) in it of pre-occupation with knowledge and the Religion better than many of the small prayer rooms, the hospices, the places where people secluded themselves for worship and the schools. And it became (such) that many amongst the prisoners chose to remain with him (Ibn Taymiyyah) after they were released, and those returning to the prison became so numerous that it became filled with them.

Refutation of the claim that Tawheed divides the Muslims – Shaykh Saalih bin Fawzaan al-Fawzaan
Translation and Audio Source: http://www.sunnahpublishing.net/audio/tawheeddivides.wma
Listen to the translated audio clip of Shaykh Saalih Ibn Fawzaan al-Fawzaan where he answers the conception held by many ignorant Muslims today that being concerned with Tawheed is a cause for the division amongst the Muslims and that we must instead be more mindful of the plots of the Jews and Christians against Islaam. The Shaykh aptly explains that such a person is either an innovator, or a mushrik.

Clarity in Manhaj & its Effects in Calling Others to Allaah – Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ramzaan al-Haajiree and Shaykh Saalih ibn Sa’d as-Suhaymee
This was a lecture delivered by the two noble and esteemed Shaykhs: Muhammad Ibn Ramzaan al-Haajiree and Saalih Ibn Sa’d as-Suhaymee – may Allaah preserve them both – on Tuesday, the 15th of Jumaadul-Oolaa 1432H, at Masjid Qubaa in al-Madeenah, the city of the Prophet.
Synopsis:
Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Ramzaan al-Haajiree explains, with numerous examples from the Qur`aan, the authentic Sunnah and the narrations of the Salaf, how clarity in manhaj has aided the people in accepting the da’wah throughout the history of Islaam. Shaykh Saalih Ibn Sa’d as-Suhaymee commends the discourse and provides examples of how people have plotted to pollute the clarity of manhaj. The Arabic text can be found at the following link:

Does Jarh wa Tadeel (Science of Criticizing and Praising) still exist today?
Does Jarh wa tadeel still exist today? – By Sheikh Rabee
(Translators note: jarh wa tadeel is the science of criticizing and praising)
Question: Some of the Scholars have mentioned that the science of jarh wa tadeel was specific to the time period of narrators, but now in the year 1420 there is nothing called jarh wa tadeel, so what is the correct position concerning this?
Sheikh Rabee: This, I swear by Allah is mockery, this from the things that make you laugh and make you cry, that speech such as this should be said. When the bida increases and the disbelief increases and the Secularists, the Communist, the Rafida, the Sufis and the misguided groups increase, they hinder Islam and the people are given free rein to do as the like and they can say whatever they like and there is no one to say this is wrong or this is evil nor anyone to say this one is a trouble maker and this one is a doer of good?
This is a loss and a lack of understanding in the religion of Allah the Mighty and Majestic. So the Salaf (Pious Predecessors) authored books in Aqeedah and in these books they criticized the people of innovation and misguidance and the called them by name, the individuals and the groups; so has this ended also?
And we say; verily the innovators that were present during the time of the Salaf, they were contested and criticized and their misguidance was made clear, and now its not permissible, its haram, now speaking against the people of bida is haram and speech against the secularist is haram and speech against the heretics and speech against the Rafida is haram and speech against the Sufis is haram? Masha Allah, is this a call to uniting the religions or what? We seek Allahs forgiveness and repent to Him, this is misguidance, it is obligatory that jarh wa tadeel remain to defend the religion of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah until the Day of Judgment. And to withdraw the swords is more than that, in order to make the statement of Allah the Blessed and Exalted the highest, and to defend against disbelief and falsehood.
And the Salaf used to say, verily defending the Sunnah is better than fighting with the sword, and defending the Sunnah is done with jarh wa tadeel.
And in line with this I say to you, Verily Al Hakim (Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Hakim al-Nishaburi) may Allah have mercy upon him, in his book knowing the science of hadith said, and his speech is the truth, jarh wa tadeel is two sciences the science of jarh (criticizing) and it is an independent science and this refutes the false minhaj of mentioning the good with the bad. The science of jarh is an independent science, and for this reason many of the Imams wrote books with just jarh (criticizing) in them. They specified these books with jarh such as Bukari in his book the weak narrators and An Nasaai in his book Al Matrukeen
And ibn Haban in his book Al Majruheen and ibn Adi in his book Al Kaamil and in a like fashion Ad Dhabi and ibn Hajr and other than them, many others have authored works specifically in the field of criticizing because it is an independent science. And this breaks the back of the minhaj of mentioning the good along with the bad and it breaks the back of the people who follow this minhaj.
And other Imams authored books about reliable narrators, such as the reliable narrators by Al Ajali and the reliable narrators by ibn Haban, have you understood this? If the Salaf believed that jarh wa tadeel was two separate sciences then how can there be mentioning the good along with the bad? One of them would author a book specifically in criticizing and there would not be in it any opening for mentioning the good along with the bad, have you understood this, may Allah bless you.
Jarh wa tadeel remains until the Day of Judgment, so when the people want to benefit from this scholar we say, this is a noble scholar upon the Sunnah, giving him recommendations; may Allah bless you.
And this scholar is a Rafida, this one is a Sufi he says that Allah is one with His creation, this one is a secularist, this one is communist hiding behind Islam, this one is like this, and this one is like that.
It is obligatory upon you to make this clear this is an obligation and it is from jihad and it will not cease and it is not specific for the narrators.
And when Tirmidhi mentioned in Al Ella the one that is at the end of his Sunan he said this knowledge, meaning that the people were condemning the Scholars who criticize hadith, he said surely so and so has been criticized and so and so has criticized Mubud Al Jahni and so and so has criticized Jaabir Al Jafy, therefore he began with the people of bida, why; because this was to criticize his bida not because he was a narrator.
Then the Salaf authored books to refute the people of bida like we have mentioned and they did not specify jarh wa tadeel for the narrators only, the innovator is never from the people of hadith. The mutazali, the jahmi, the Murji and the rest of them have no connection to the narrators, rather they are innovators so they were criticized.
So from where do they say that the door for jarh wa tadeel has been closed? This is like the call of those who are bigoted towards the madhabs. They say the door for Ijtihad has been closed since the second generation, and some of them say since the third and some say since the fourth, meaning it is finished. Allah the Mighty and Majestic paralyzed the intellects of the Muslims from that time until now, their minds are paralyzed and they are not able to understand the speech of Allah or the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah peace and blessings are upon him. This judgment is unfair and a lie against Allah the Blessed and Exalted.
And in a like fashion is the slander of the one who says, jarh wa tadeel has ended and its doors have been closed This I swear by Allah is a crime against Islam, fear Allah my brother don’t block the door of jarh wa tadeel; and the people of truth and the people of the Sunnah will not listen to you.

Refutation of Maududi’s principle of Shirk in Haakimiyah by Shaykh SafiurRahman Mubarakpuri rahimahullah
Impressions of Shaykh Safiur Rahman Mubarakpooree about Maududi.
A view of Maududi upon which he stood with firmness and the truth is that he laid the foundation for his Jamaat (group, i.e Jamat e islami) upon this view. And presented this view with such strength that even great scholars were influenced by him and they even accepted it, even though they did not enter him Jamaat, but they were influenced by his thoughts and accepted them. When these views came before me, even I was confused for a few days. But after that Allaah Ta’la opened this matter (mas’ala) in such a clear way that no type of doubt or confusion remained . Now I will present it before you, then there will be no doubt or confusion for you too Insha’Allaah. So clearly Allaah Ta’ala has opened it.
The view of Maulana (Maududi) was that if there is continuous following (Ita’ah) of someone, then this is the worship (Ibadah) of that person .the Muslim is in continuous following (Ita’ah) of Allaah Ta’ala and he follow (Ita’ah) the Prophet SalAllaahu alaihiwasallam because Allaah Ta’ala ordered to follow him. Thus the following (Ita’ah) of the Prophet salAllaahu alaihiwasallam is in accordance to the following (Ita’ah) of Allaah Ta’ala, therefore when he SalAllaahu alaihiwasallam is followed it is the following of Allaah Ta’ala and this worship (Ibaadah) becomes the worship (Ibaadah) of Allaah. Now from here he (Maududi) has raised another problem that if a government does not govern according to the law laid by Allaah Ta’ala then following that government will be worshipping that government and this is Shirk. And this is where he (Maududi) took his view of Shirk in Haakimiyyah and presented it strongly, and many a people are busy in it till date. Now I will present its truth before you, I mean t say that books of about a hundered, two hundred, three hundred, four hundred, six hundred and in some cases eight hundred pages have been written by many people on this topic. The matter has been confused in such a way and with such long debates that it becomes difficult to imagine. That is why I present this matter before you in a few clear and firm way.
Shaikh Hammaad al-Ansaaree’s encounter with Maududi
Shaikh Hammaad al-Ansaaree’s encounter with Maududi:
I visited Maududi (Abul-A’laa Al-Maududi) along with some brothers during the course of his stay in Riyadh and he was in the hotel ‘bat-haa’ so we entered upon him and he was praying the ‘Asr prayer, so I began observing his prayer. So when he finished I said to him:
‘This prayer of yours needs reviewing, for you do not raise your hands, nor do you relax (be at ease) and other than that’
So he said: ‘I am Hanafee in Madhhab’.
So I said to him: ‘this is more overwhelming than the first; since it is impermissible for you to say that, and you are above such a statement. We had come to think from your writings that you are a free-thinker[1], but it has become apparent to us that you are a constricted thinker.’ Then I said to him: ‘indeed Imaam Aboo Haneefah is the one that you blindly follow; yet who are the ones that Imaam Aboo Haneefah blindly followed?’
He remained silent, and Allaah’s Aid is sought.

Story about a Student of Knowledge from 1980s as mentioned by Shaykh Falaah Ismaeel
This lecture of Shaykh Falaah Ismaeel (حفظه الله) was recorded on Tuesday, February 08, 2011.
In this lecture the Shaykh covered everything in regards with following the Salaf. He mentioned that we should follow the Salaf in their Aqeedah (creed), Ibadaat (acts of worship), Ikhlaaq (good manners), Mua’mulaat, and in everything. He mentioned many stories and one of the stories was about one of the Student of Knowledge (حفظه الله).
The Shaykh said – “I met one Student of Knowledge about 30 years ago when he was studying in Madinah (Saudi Arabia). We used to live together and sit with Ulemah. He was a very good student, he was excellent in the first year, excellent in the second, and in the third year but when the forth year started, he came to me and told me that he would like to go back to his home country (United Kingdom). Everybody asked him that why you want to leave, you are almost there, finish your education, get your degree, and then leave. He began to cry and said that he got a phone call from his family member and they told him that his father is very sick and he is in the hospital and the family is afraid that he may die (upon kufr). We told him that your father may not die, a lot of people go to the hospital but not everyone dies immediately. But he said that something in my heart telling me to leave. So he got on the plane and went back and didn’t finish the forth and last year of the University”.
The Shaykh said that he didn’t care about the degree. He was truthful with Allah as related to guiding his father to Al-Islam and Allah was truthful with him as well. He went back and after a couple of days, we talked to him and he said alhamdulillah my father has accepted Islam. He said that alhamdulillah my father died upon Islam in the same hospital. The Shaykh said I visited him after many years and he said that now my mother is Muslim and my whole family is Muslim. The Shaykh said what we learn from this story that if you really care about your family and they are non Muslims, then focus your time and do what you can, the success is with Allah (سبحانه وتعالى).
