Question:
Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee: The questioner says: May Allah bless you and give you good. Is asking about the people from the guidance of the Salaf?
Answer:
Shaykh Rabee: Yes, asking about the people is from the Minhaj of the Salaf; look to see who you take your deen from. Verily this knowledge is deen, thus look to see from whom you take your deen.
Some people ask will truthfulness and sincerity, they desire to take their deen from qualified Scholars with sound Aqeedah and sound Minhaj, thus for this reason they ask.
And some of the people ask because they want fitna. During this time period, there are many questions; what is your opinion about so and so. What do you think about so and so, what is your view about the Minhaj of so and so? And his intention is not to benefit from the person or to avoid him, rather he has another intention. His intention is to disseminate and spread fitna among the people. These types of questions are not permissible because they are for the purpose of fitna, and the affairs are according to their intentions.
But if the questioner wants good, and he wants to learn and he wants to take his deen in the correct manner then it is incumbent upon him to search for those whom he should take his deen from.

The Ruling on the Statement: “He Was the Qur`an Walking on the Earth”
Shaikh Rabee bin Hadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah)

Question:
We hear the tongues of some of the lecturers (when describing the character) of the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam), “He was the Qur`an walking on the Earth.” Meaning, he implemented the rules and regulations of the Qur`an. What is the ruling of this statement?
Shaikh Rabee bin Hadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) answered:
It is incumbent that we say, “His character was the Qur`an,” [1] like ‘Aa`isha (radiAllahu ‘anha) said. The Qur`an is the speech of Allaah and not created; whereas Muhammad is a human being who is created.
It is not incumbent (nor proper) to say, (“He was the Qur`an walking on the Earth“) or things similar to this. This is because we are at war with the Mu’tazilah and other than them over their statement that the “Qur`an is created,” so how can we (the people of the Sunnah) utter statements like this?!
We say the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alaihi wa sallam) implemented the rules and regulations of the Qur`an, and his (sallAllaahu alaihi wa sallam) character emanated from the Qur`an; he (sallAllaahu alaihi wa sallam) acted in accordance to it and believed in it. This statement, (“He was the Qur`an walking on the Earth,” conceptually comes) from the western slogans which (people) blindly follow. And Allaah knows best.

“I can sit with the innovator because I’m well-grounded” – Answered by Shaykh Rabee
“I can sit with the innovator because I’m well-grounded”
Question:
The questioner says: When some of the brothers are advised to avoid associating with the people of innovation and to avoid their gatherings, they answer with the statement: ‘I’m well-grounded.’ Therefore what is your advice? May Allah preserve you.
Answer: (Shaykh Rabee)
We say to him, if you were well-grounded you would not associate with them. If you were well-grounded you would have known the Salafi Minhaj, you would know the danger which you are exposed to, you would know about the victims from those just like you; those who were deceived just like you. By Allah, if you were like that (well grounded) you would not walk with the people of innovation. Many of the people associate with the people of innovation using the argument that he is going to benefit them!
Oh my brother they don’t benefit from the Scholars so how are they going to benefit from you?!! They reject the statements of ibn Baz and Albani and ibn Uthameen, may Allah have mercy upon them, and they reject the statements of other Scholars from the Imaams of Islam, and they are going to accept it from you?!! This is madness. Furthermore there is a ninety nine percent chance that you will become one of their followers.
