Whistling and Clapping Hands is from Jaahiliyyah

October 24, 2011 2 comments

[21] They performed worship by whistling and clapping their hands.

- the explanation -

From the aspects of the Days of Ignorance that the Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) opposed them in was their performance of worship to Allaah by means of whistling and clapping. Allaah says:

“And their prayer at the House (Ka’bah) was nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. So taste the torment because of what you used to disbelieve.” [Surah Al-Anfaal:25]

This means: The worship that the polytheists performed to Allaah at the sacred Ka’bah was nothing more than whistling and clapping.

The word mukaa means whistling, while tasdeeyah means clapping with the hands and palms. They would do this while at the House of Allaah and call it prayer, seeking nearness to Allaah through it. This is one of the things the devils among mankind and the jinn beautified to them, in order to deceive them.

Worship is not to be done except according to what Allaah has legislated – so it is dependent upon revelation. A person must not introduce something from his own self or take it from someone else when it is not according to what Allaah has legislated, thus worshipping Allaah by it even though it has no source in the religion.

Here, we can derive the prohibition of these two matters, which are: whistling and clapping. They are forbidden even though one may not intend to be performing worship by them, since there can be found imitation of the polytheists in it.

As for clapping, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) only allowed it specifically1 for women at the time of a necessity, such as to notify the Imaam if he has omitted or added something to the prayer. This was due to the fitnah that could occur from their voice if there are men present. And it is not permissible for a man to imitate the disbelievers or to imitate a women by clapping.

وَمَا كَانَ صَلاَتُهُمْ عِندَ الْبَيْتِ إِلاَّ مُكَاء وَتَصْدِيَةً فَذُوقُواْ الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ1 Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه‏) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Saying Subhaanallaaah is for men and clapping is for women.” [Transmitted by Al-Bukhaaree (no. 1203) and Muslim (no. 422/106)] And in the hadeeth of Sahl bin Sa’ad, he reported that the Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Why is it that I see you clapping so much. Whoever is doubtful about something is the prayer, let him SubhanAllaah for if one says it, it will attract attention. Clapping is only for women.” Transmitted by Al-Bukhaaree (no. 684) and Muslim (no. 421)]

From the book Masaa’il-ul-Jaahiliyyah (Aspects of the Days of Ignorance) by Shaykh Muhammad bin ‘Abdil-Wahhaab (d.1206h) explained by Shaykh Saalih bin Fawzaan al-Fawzaan.

Is the Sufi’s Stabbing themselves with Skewers a Miracle?

August 11, 2011 1 comment

Translated by Ahmed Abu Turaab @ http://shaikhalbaani.wordpress.com

I had travelled to Aleppo from Damascus for da’wah and gave a lesson after which the people dispersed. Normally four to five people from our brothers, our friends, stay behind. [This time] another person stayed behind with them who I had never seen before. He was sitting there, far away from me. His stomach was like this, he was not overweight, slim, yet along with that his stomach was like this [i.e., sticking out].

I said to him, ‘What is this?’

He said, ‘This is ‘Rahmaaniyyah.’’ That was the first time I heard this word, [I heard it] there in Aleppo. I said, ‘What does Rahmaaniyyah mean?’

He said, ‘It means the skewers.’

I said, ‘So why did you come to me?’ I knew why.  He said:

‘To show you our miracles [karaamaat].’

I said to him, ‘This is easy [to deal with].’  That day I had a two-sided blade with me to sharpen my pencil, each side was like this, small.

I said to him, ‘[If that’s the case], I’ll hit you with this blade using my hand.’

So he said, ‘[No], with my hand,’ i.e., he wanted to strike himself with the blade which I would give him.

So I said, ‘No, with my hand.’

He said, ‘With my hand.’ So the people started to look at these words being repeated by both sides, I was saying, ‘With my hand,’ and he was saying, ‘With my hand.’

‘With my hand.’

‘With my hand.’

‘With my hand.’

‘With my hand.’

‘With my hand.’

And I naturally was more patient than him because firstly, I knew I was upon the truth and secondly so many years have passed by me, as many as Allaah has willed, calling all types of people to the true religion of Allaah.

So he became tired and fed up.

[And when he did] the last thing he said was, ‘What’s the difference?’

I was saying to him, ‘With my hand.’ And he was saying to me, ‘With my hand. With my hand.’ Afterwards he got tired and became fed up, and said, ‘What’s the difference?’

I said, ‘If there is no difference, [then] with my hand.’  He then turned the topic on its head, and this is from their ignorance.

He called the person whose house it was, and his name was Abu Ahmad, he said to him, ‘O Abu Ahmad! Bring the brazier [i.e., a metal container for carrying hot coal, etc.].’

I understood what he meant and so I said, ‘O Abu Ahmad, don’t bring the brazier, bring a matchstick.’ Subhaanallaah, he was from the Sufis and they were used to wearing a white head covering without the head cord [iqaal, the round black cord Arabs wear to keep the head covering in place].

So he brought the matchstick. I lit it and got up going towards him and said, ‘You will denounce this false claim of yours or otherwise I will burn you.’

Miskeen, he was speechless, silent, not saying a single word.

I was moving towards him step by step until I came close to him–and I really put the matchstick onto his head covering, and it started to catch fire.

Then I took it and rubbed it against itself like this [i.e., put it out after having proved the falsehood of his claim], fearing that the sparks would increase, I [put it out] like this, and then said to him, ‘Go to those Shaikhs of yours and tell them:

‘These are the miracles [karaamaat] of the Salafis.’

Does Jarh wa Tadeel (Science of Criticizing and Praising) still exist today?

Does Jarh wa tadeel still exist today? – By Sheikh Rabee

(Translator‎s note: jarh wa tadeel is the science of criticizing and praising)

Question: Some of the Scholars have mentioned that the science of jarh wa tadeel was specific to the time period of narrators, but now in the year 1420 there is nothing called jarh wa tadeel, so what is the correct position concerning this?

Sheikh Rabee:  This, I swear by Allah is mockery, this from the things that make you laugh and make you cry, that speech such as this should be said. When the bida increases and the disbelief increases and the Secularists, the Communist, the Rafida, the Sufis and the misguided groups increase, they hinder Islam and the people are given free rein to do as the like and they can say whatever they like and there is no one to say this is wrong or this is evil nor anyone to say this one is a trouble maker and this one is a doer of good?

This is a loss and a lack of understanding in the religion of Allah the Mighty and Majestic. So the Salaf (Pious Predecessors) authored books in Aqeedah and in these books they criticized the people of innovation and misguidance and the called them by name, the individuals and the groups; so has this ended also?

And we say; verily the innovators that were present during the time of the Salaf, they were contested and criticized and their misguidance was made clear, and now it‎s not permissible, it‎s haram, now speaking against the people of bida is haram and speech against the secularist is haram and speech against the heretics and speech against the Rafida is haram and speech against the Sufis is haram? Masha Allah, is this a call to uniting the religions or what? We seek Allah‎s forgiveness and repent to Him, this is misguidance, it is obligatory that jarh wa tadeel remain to defend the religion of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah until the Day of Judgment. And to withdraw the swords is more than that, in order to make the statement of Allah the Blessed and Exalted the highest, and to defend against disbelief and falsehood.

And the Salaf used to say, ‎verily defending the Sunnah is better than fighting with the sword‎, and defending the Sunnah is done with jarh wa tadeel.

And in line with this I say to you, Verily Al Hakim (Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Hakim al-Nishaburi) may Allah have mercy upon him, in his book ‎knowing the science of hadith‎ said, and his speech is the truth, ‎jarh wa tadeel is two sciences‎ the science of jarh (criticizing) and it is an independent science and this refutes the false minhaj of mentioning the good with the bad. The science of jarh is an independent science, and for this reason many of the Imams wrote books with just jarh (criticizing) in them. They specified these books with jarh such as Bukari in his book ‎the weak narrators‎ and An Nasaai in his book ‎Al Matrukeen‎

And ibn Haban in his book ‎Al Majruheen‎ and ibn Adi in his book ‎Al Kaamil‎ and in a like fashion Ad Dhabi and ibn Hajr and other than them, many others have authored works specifically in the field of criticizing because it is an independent science. And this breaks the back of the minhaj of mentioning the good along with the bad and it breaks the back of the people who follow this minhaj.

And other Imams authored books about reliable narrators, such as ‎the reliable narrators by Al Ajali‎ and ‎the reliable narrators by ibn Haban‎, have you understood this? If the Salaf believed that jarh wa tadeel was two separate sciences then how can there be mentioning the good along with the bad? One of them would author a book specifically in criticizing and there would not be in it any opening for mentioning the good along with the bad, have you understood this, may Allah bless you.

Jarh wa tadeel remains until the Day of Judgment, so when the people want to benefit from this scholar we say, this is a noble scholar upon the Sunnah, giving him recommendations; may Allah bless you.

And this scholar is a Rafida, this one is a Sufi he says that Allah is one with His creation, this one is a secularist, this one is communist hiding behind Islam, this one is like this, and this one is like that.

It is obligatory upon you to make this clear this is an obligation and it is from jihad and it will not cease and it is not specific for the narrators.

And when Tirmidhi mentioned in ‎Al Ella‎  the one that is at the end of his Sunan he said this knowledge, meaning that the people were condemning the Scholars who criticize hadith, he said surely so and so has been criticized and so and so has criticized Mubud Al Jahni and so and so has criticized Jaabir Al Jafy, therefore he began with the people of bida, why; because this was to criticize his bida not because he was a narrator.

Then the Salaf authored books to refute the people of bida like we have mentioned and they did not specify jarh wa tadeel for the narrators only, the innovator is never from the people of hadith. The mutazali, the jahmi, the Murji and the rest of them have no connection to the narrators, rather they are innovators so they were criticized.

So from where do they say that the door for jarh wa tadeel has been closed? This is like the call of those who are bigoted towards the madhabs. They say the door for Ijtihad has been closed since the second generation, and some of them say since the third and some say since the fourth, meaning it is finished. Allah the Mighty and Majestic paralyzed the intellects of the Muslims from that time until now, their minds are paralyzed and they are not able to understand the speech of Allah or the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah peace and blessings are upon him. This judgment is unfair and a lie against Allah the Blessed and Exalted.

And in a like fashion is the slander of the one who says, jarh wa tadeel has ended and its doors have been closed This I swear by Allah is a crime against Islam, fear Allah my brother don’‎t block the door of jarh wa tadeel; and the people of truth and the people of the Sunnah will not listen to you.

The translation of the Glorious Qur’an by Muhammad Asad

Fatal errors and flagrant false beliefs in the Translation of the Qur’an by Muhammad Asad

4- Why was the translation mentioned above published in a Muslim country taking into account that Muhammad Asad – to my knowledge – is living in the Kingdom of Morocco? I find nothing in the Qur’an or the Sunnah to support the issues mentioned in it. I hope that your fatwa will back me up to refute these matters and prevent the publication of this translation here.

A: The translation referred to contains fatal errors and flagrant false beliefs. As a result, the Constitutional Council of the Muslim World League in Mecca issued a decree banning the print and publication of this translation.

May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and companions!

So Who are the Khawaarij Today? – Shaikh Hassan ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah)

Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillaah wa salatu wa salaamu ‘ala rasulullaah
Amma ba’d

So Who are the Khawaarij Today?

The Ideology of the Khawaarij Sect is disseminated amongst Muslims today via the teachings of Sayyid Qutb, Hasan al-Banna, Ikhwaanul-Muslimoon and their many spinoffs.

Shaikh Hassan ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) said:

quote:
One of the different misguided groups still working to hide the truth from the people is the Khawaarij… From those who carry the ideology of the Khawaarij is “Ikhwanul Muslimeen,” founded by Hassan al-Banna [no relation].

And we say “rahimahullaah,” because we hope that he may have repented before he died. However, it was narrated about Hassan al-Banna after what happened in his final days when he was arrested by the Egyptian government amongst the ranks of Ikhwanul Muslimeen because of demonstrations on the streets of Egypt and blowing up some places with bombs and fighting the police on the streets and so on, that he said, ‘I wish we continued upon worshipping Allaah and reciting adhkaar.’ He never said here Tawheed [singling out Allaah] or anything relating to Tawheed [the call of which he was known for dismissing, as you'll soon read in sha` Allaah]. So we hope that he may have repented to Allaah – between him and Allaah – to the true religion [meaning correct Islam].

He never called the people to Tawheed, he never showed them Tawheed versus shirk, or Sunnah versus bid’ah. Rather, when asked about Tawheed, or the Names and Attributes of Allaah, or those calling upon the people in the graves, he and Ikhwanul Muslimeen would not say anything but general talk without explanation or delving into details. Even in his memoirs, he stated that calling upon those in the graves did not have anything to do with ‘aqeedah. [Calling upon those in the graves is, of course, Major Shirk! Aoodhoobillaah!] And his followers followed him in this same path.

Shaikh Hassan ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) recounted his own experiences as a child and later as a young adult with this group – Ikhwanul Muslimeen – which carries the ideology of the Khawaarij:

quote:
We were young at the time, so we said what the people were saying. And Al-Hamdulillaah, Allaah guided us to the true manhaj (methodology) and correct ‘aqidah (creed), via our (righteous) scholars. And we learned the truth of the matter. …Hassan al-Banna [the founder of this deviant group] called the people to his ‘aqidah, and part of his ‘aqeedah was to be in different parties – against the rulers – and to refute the actions of the rulers that they saw as against the religion. And they used to spread this in the society among the people. But we still believe they [Ikhwanul Muslimeen] were not disbelievers. And the same goes for the [Muslim] rulers, whom we do not declare to be disbelievers.

Here’s what our Shaikh Hassan ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) said about the encounters between Hassan al-Banna [the founder of Ikhwanul Muslimeen] and righteous Salafi scholar Muhammad Hammid al-Fiqhee (rahimahullaah):

quote:
Hassan al-Banna [the founder of Ikhwanul Muslimeen] visited Shaikh Muhammad Hammid al-Fiqhee (rahimahullaah) in his Jam’eeyah, and told him: ‘The Muslims are lost!’ (meaning they’re broken apart in division and groups) and have no strength whatsoever, and they’re not living the life of Islam.’

So the Shaikh Muhammad Hammid al-Fiqhee asked him, ‘What is the exit (solution)?’

So Hassan al-Banna [the founder of Ikhwanul Muslimeen] said, ‘Call them to Islam.’

Shaikh Muhammad al-Fiqhee said, ‘Which Islam?’ Hassan al-Banna [the founder of Ikhwanul Muslimeen] said, ‘General Islam that is befitting for the laymen of the Muslims.’

So Shaikh Muhammad al-Fiqhee refused and said, ‘Rather, we call them to Tawheed and Manhaj.’ [Which is a more specific call to the correct Islam - prioritizing Tawheed and the Sunnah - that all the Messengers ('alaihimu salaam) called to; and is also a focus on eeman and not numbers at the expense of eeman; in addition to the forbidding of shirk and bid'ah, and not ignoring them for the sake of superficial numbers.]

Hassan al-Banna [the founder of Ikhwanul Muslimeen] said, ‘They will divide when we mention Tawheed.’

Shaikh Muhammad al-Fiqhee said, quoting the ayah: Not upon you (Muhammad ) is their guidance (Al-Baqarah 2:272)

And every time Hassan al-Banna [the founder of Ikhwanul Muslimeen] visited the Shaikh Muhammad al-Fiqhee, the Shaikh al-Fiqhee repeated his call to Tawheed and to understand the religion with the understanding of the Salaf-us-saleh (righteous predecessors). And the Shaikh al-Fiqhee kept rejecting Hassan al-Banna’s invitations [to join his deviant group Ikhwanul Muslimeen], and the Shaikh al-Fiqhee kept on telling him, ‘this is the way of the Messengers, and I am steadfast upon this.’ So they ended up going in different ways.

Shaikh Hassan ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) shared some of his extremely disturbing experiences with Ikhwanul Muslimeen and harrowing accounts of their deviance, and thirst for Muslim blood, and making takfeer without due right:

quote:
As a young man, I would go with some of the youth of Ikhwanul Muslimeen, those who lived around me. They used to call me to sit with them and to be part of their group (then he became more acquainted with more of their groups). They used to call me to be part of their group, but Allaah had given me the success at the time to know what Tawheed is, via my brother Shaikh Muhammad al-Banna (rahimahullaah), who was the one who called me to attend the classes and khutbas of Shaikh al-Fiqhi. So Allaah opened my heart to this correct ‘aqeedah and I say ‘Al-Hamdulillaah for the correct ‘aqeedah and manhaj.’

They used to call me to outings and picnics ‘where we can get some fresh air and … in the gardens.’ And I used to call them to Tawheed through our discussions whenever an opportunity was available, and they always objected to my speech regarding ‘Aqeedah. They always objected to my speech regarding ‘Aqeedah. And they always would say ‘our ‘Shaikh’ Hassan al-Banna did not say so.’ Because they used to hold the words of Hassan al-Banna as ‘Holy Words,’ and would never see him as making a mistake. Not just with Hassan al-Banna but also with all the leaders of Ikhwanul Muslimeen, believing that if they agreed with one another – even if it has some negation to Islam – it would strengthen the brotherhood and keep the unity of the group. If a person made a mistake in his statement or khutbah, opposing the truth, they would not correct him or review with him his mistake – ‘to preserve the unity’ as they were claiming.

I do not mean their leaders were calling to kufr, but they were calling to the ‘aqeedah of the Khawaarij. They definitely are a misguided group, but they’re not disbelievers.

And those times, we would hear via the news that the Egyptian government had found out via the police force and investigating forces that Ikhwanul Muslimeen had hiding places full of weapons and bombs, but the general Egyptian public used to say, ‘this is just false claims of the Egyptian government and is not true.’ But I myself – with the bounty of Allaah – was called one day by some of the youth of Ikhwanul Muslimeen to one of their meetings on the day of Jumu’ah before salatul Jumu’ah. So they would plan how they would go against the government and their policies with the English (British) who at the time were occupying Egypt. So I went with them to one of the houses of the men of Ikhwanul Muslimeen, and they were talking about how they were going against the head of the Egyptian government Sidqi Basha, and how they were going to make demonstrations and slogans against the government.

So I advised them as best as I can against such actions and, on my way out of that room, I saw two or three men helping one another in carrying a big box. And when they took it off their shoulders, I saw the box was full of guns or pistols. So I started thinking seriously about this group, and about the statements of most of the general public that what was in the newspaper and media accusing the Ikhwanul Muslimeen movement of owning weapons or ammunition, and I saw this to be the truth that no one knew except a few from the ranks of Ikhwanul Muslimeen.

And before all of this, they were training the youth in the arts of fighting on how to be combatants to get ready for ‘the main battle,’ as they were claiming, through physical excercises and teaching them how to carry weapons and use them in secret places or secret ways.

I didn’t go to those [secret] places. When I was in Cairo University, some of the Ikhwanul Muslimeen called us to one of these events. And those holding such excercises were telling the people: ‘we must learn how to fight the British and force them to leave Egypt.’ The Ikhwanul Muslimeen ranks of file were many and plenty at Cairo University and they were calling the youth to military excercises to come and train with military excercises. One day, we went and did some excercises with them, knowing that these excercises were known to the Egyptian government and they weren’t a secret. Then one or two of their ranks, who had knowledge of explosives, came and blew one or two bombs in front of the crowd, bombs called “Sawtiya” (meaning the ones that make a lot of noise but no damage). And they commanded us to land on our stomachs, like they do in the military and so on.

And that excercise was attended by Hassan al-Hudaybi, who later became the leader of Ikhwanul Muslimeen after [founder] Hassan al-Banna died.

And from these incidents that took place after what I’ve learned – Al-Hamdulillaah – regarding the correct, authentic religion and the clarification, and what the religion says about the different groups that go against the people of the Sunnah and from them the groups of al-Khawaarij and other than them.

After what happened in Egypt that some of the rank and file of the Ikhwanul Muslimeen killed the president of an Egyptian Court because he ruled imprisonment for some of the youth, so they blew up part of that court with bombs or explosives. Then one incident after another, they also killed the president of the police force of the city of Cairo. Then they killed the Prime Minister of Egypt Ahmad Maher Basha, and after him they killed the successive Prime Minister Mahmoud an-Nakrashi basha. Then they killed other then them from the presidents of the government, and the higher ranks of the Egyptian court. And all of this has been documented, and no man can be mistaken about it, and no man after all of this can have good thoughts about Ikhwanul Muslimeen.

Especially [disturbing is] that some of the youth of Ikhwanul Muslimeen when they meet me, they would show happiness for the killing of the Prime Minister or other than him of the rulers whom they considered to be ‘kufaar.’

Shaikh Hassan ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) then explained how Allaah exposed the reality of Ikhwanul Muslimeen to the public:

quote:
Besides all of this, the news that I am saying now was not known in detail at the time, except for recent days or maybe recent years. And books have been written by some of the members of Ikhwanul Muslimeen, those who have broken away from the sect. In addition to what has been written in Egyptian newspapers and what the police force and general security forces have found out regarding Ikhwanul Muslimeen and the weapons and ammunition that they would hide in different apartments around Cairo and other than Cairo. Also more destruction was committed by Ikhwanul Muslimeen that was discovered by the police force in Egypt.

In addition, there was an apartment in Cairo called “Shubra” that was full of ammunitions and weapons. So when the police tried to [raid the apartment] and the general security forces tried to enter the apartment and chase by force the members of Ikhwanul Muslimeen – wal Hamdulillaah – and the members were chased out, then some of the members of Ikhwanul Muslimeen started shooting the police force on the street from different windows in the building, and it turned into a fight back-and-forth with weapons, and so on, with many victims.

Then the news came after that – and before that, too – that Ikhwanul Muslimeen were upon the way of the Khawaarij. It became obvious. And they were instigating the masses to go against the government and against the ruler, and fight the government with weapons and the like.

And from (them) were those who called themselves “Qa’diyah” (the sitters), and al-Qa’dah, by the way, refers to the fact that they are sitting down. They bunker down (for the lack of a better word). They would not fight; rather they would train others to fight and supply them with weapons and ammunition to fight on their behalf. So they gather between instigating the people to fight against the rulers and giving them the weapons to do so, and killing whoever stands in their way from the police force and general security forces.

I’d like to remind you that [these accounts] of Ikhwanul Muslimeen came from the mouths and books and writings of some members of Ikhwanul Muslimeen who broke away from them and exposed their secrets [by the permission and bounty of Allaah].

And lastly, not too long ago, the Shaikh Mahmoud Lutfi’amir (hafidhahullaah) – the Salafi da’ee in the city of Damanhur in Egypt has written two books about Ikhwanul Muslimeen and about their secret structure that has been exposed, and has been mentioned in detail by those who broke away from them.

Shaikh Hassan ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) gave an up-to-date on Ikhwanul Muslimeen in Egypt:

quote:
The Egyptian government stopped all Ikhwanul Muslimeen activities – wal-Hamdulillaah – all over the Arab Republic of Egypt. And after all these incidents, today Ikhwanul Muslimeen is still trying – in secret and hiding – to shake down the Egyptian government…This is the reality of Ikhwanul Muslimeen. Allaah decreed it, and He does what He wills.

Here are additional excerpts from the detailed lesson that the Shaikh Hassan ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) gave:

Among those affected by the calls of Ikhwanul Muslimeen:

quote:
Muhammad Adh-Dhawaahiri and Ayman Adh-Dhawaahiri, and Usamah bin Laden. Shaikh Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah) called them “Khawaarij.” And Mulla ‘Umar (was also affected by the call of Ikhwanul Muslimeen).

About Sunnah and bid’ah, which the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) spoke about in every khutbah, Ikhwanul Muslimeen say:

quote:
There’s no need to mention any of this.

Shaikh Hassan ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) reflected upon the injury and harm that the deviance of Ikhwanul Muslimeen (and the rest of the Khawaarij) has caused:

quote:
And I feel sorry in my heart as a result of the actions of Ikhwanul Muslimeen – as you’ve seen from the news and incidents that took place – that a part of the Muslims in Egypt and other lands have deviated from the correct and authentic ‘aqeedah (belief), and have fallen into the corrupt ‘aqeedah of the Khawaarij, and became – audhoobillaah – a bad reputation for all of us together as Muslims. There’s no person in Europe and the rest of the world except that he would say, ‘The Muslims are people of fighting and terrorism.’

This also has brought negative attention to the call [itself] to the correct manhaj and the callers to Tawheed, who became lumped along with the (deviated) Muslims. And this is because of the ignorance of some of the people or (maybe due to) some purpose that they have on their own to shake down the Muslims and push the rest of the people away from the correct religion.

Shaikh Hassan ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) reminded us to reflect upon the evil result of the ‘aqeedah of Ikhwanul Muslimeen (and the rest of the Khawaarij), and be grateful to Allaah that He saved us from it:

quote:
This corrupt ‘aqeedah of the Khawaarij has affected all Muslim lands. It is sufficient for the Muslims to hear what the Khawaarij have done, and how they have affected the Muslim society as a whole, that would lead you to hate all of their actions, and it would lead you to declare your innocence from such false ideologies, especially the ideology of the Khawaarij. Also, this should lead us to prostrate to Allaah, and praise Him for guiding us to the Qur`an and Sunnah upon the Understanding of the Salaf-us-saleh, and for being saved from (the ideology of the Khawaarij), such that whoever follows it would be led to the hellfire. Audhoobillaah!

Shaikh Hassan ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) warned us from falling for the tricks of those who defend Ikhwanul Muslimeen:

quote:
And don’t believe anybody who defends them (Ikhwanul Muslimeen), saying, ‘these brothers are good brothers. They have love for Islam; they have honor for Islam’…These are nothing but empty slogans. And if (they truly have love for Islam), this is not the way to express it. But rather, the way to do it is for the Muslims to be gathered together upon the [Prophet's] ‘aqidah and manhaj under the banner of the people of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah, upon the Qur`an and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf-us-saleh…

Allaah said: Allaah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allaah). (An-Nur, ayah 55)

Shaikh Hassan ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) advised:

quote:
If you come across these people, advise them. If they reject, leave them; don’t argue with them. …And don’t praise them… And (remember) all of this has taken place by the Qadr of Allaah.

The shaikh also reminded us of this hadeeth:

quote:
Hudhaifah Bin al Yamaan (radiallaahu ‘anhu) said: People used to ask the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) about the good times, but I used to ask him about bad times lest they overtake me.

I said: Messenger of Allaah, we were in the midst of ignorance and evil, and then Allaah brought us this good (time through Islam). Is there any bad time after this good one?

He said: Yes.

I asked: Will there be a good time again after that bad time?

He said: Yes, but therein will be a hidden evil.

I asked: What will be the evil hidden therein?

He said: (That time will witness the rise of) the people who will adopt ways other than mine and seek guidance other than mine. You will know (their) good points as well as (their) bad points.

I asked: Will there be a bad time after this good one?

He said: Yes. (A time will come) when there will be people standing and inviting at the gates of Hell. Whosoever responds to their call they will throw them into the fire.

I said: Messenger of Allaah, describe them for us.

He said: All right. They will be a people having the same complexion as ours and speaking our language.

I said: Messenger of Allaah, what do you suggest if I happen to live in that time?

He said: You should stick to the main body of the Muslims and their leader.

I said: If they have no (such thing as the) main body and have no leader?

He said: Separate yourself from all these factions, though you may have to eat the roots of trees (in a jungle) until death comes to you and you are in this state.

(Collected by Bukhari and Muslim. The wording of the above is that of Imaam Muslim)

The shaikh said about this hadeeth:

quote:
This does not mean that a person isolates himself – audhoobillaah. He should still make his salat in Jama’ah and fulfill the rights to Allaah. But if the situation becomes dire – worst-case scenario – he can go to the desert and stay safe from everybody’s harm. That also does not mean that a person leaves the land of the Muslims.

All Praise is for Allaah, Who guided us to the path of our Prophet Muhammad (salallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) and saved us from the path of the one (Dhul-Khwaisrah at-Tameemi) who rebelled against the Prophet.

Refutation of Maududi’s principle of Shirk in Haakimiyah by Shaykh SafiurRahman Mubarakpuri rahimahullah

Impressions of Shaykh Safiur Rahman Mubarakpooree about Maududi.

A view of Maududi upon which he stood with firmness and the truth is that he laid the foundation for his Jamaat (group, i.e Jamat e islami) upon this view. And presented this view with such strength that even great scholars were influenced by him and they even accepted it, even though they did not enter him Jamaat, but they were influenced by his thoughts and accepted them. When these views came before me, even I was confused for a few days. But after that Allaah Ta’la opened this matter (mas’ala) in such a clear way that no type of doubt or confusion remained . Now I will present it before you, then there will be no doubt or confusion for you too Insha’Allaah. So clearly Allaah Ta’ala has opened it.

The view of Maulana (Maududi) was that if there is continuous following (Ita’ah) of someone, then this is the worship (Ibadah) of that person .the Muslim is in continuous following (Ita’ah) of Allaah Ta’ala and he follow (Ita’ah) the Prophet SalAllaahu alaihiwasallam because Allaah Ta’ala ordered to follow him. Thus the following (Ita’ah) of the Prophet salAllaahu alaihiwasallam is in accordance to the following (Ita’ah) of Allaah Ta’ala, therefore when he SalAllaahu alaihiwasallam is followed it is the following of Allaah Ta’ala and this worship (Ibaadah) becomes the  worship (Ibaadah) of Allaah. Now from here he (Maududi) has raised another problem that if a government does not govern according to the law laid by Allaah Ta’ala then following that government will be worshipping  that government and this is Shirk. And this is where he (Maududi) took his view of Shirk in Haakimiyyah and presented it strongly, and many a people are busy in it till date. Now I will present its truth before you, I mean t say that books of about a hundered, two hundred, three hundred, four hundred, six hundred and in some cases eight hundred pages have been written by many people on this topic. The matter has been confused in such a way and with such long debates that it becomes difficult to imagine. That is why I present this matter before you in a few clear and firm way.

Refutation of: “Take the good and leave the bad”

Refutation of the feeble argument, “Take the good and leave the bad” -  by Abul Hasan Maalik al-Akhdar

Excerpts:

Yes the truth is to be accepted from whoever says it, and the Salafus Saalih did not abstain from accepting the truth, and with that  they never said, ‘take  the truth that is found in the books of the people of innovation and leave the falsehood.’ . Rather they proclaimed with their loudest voice to leave them all together. Rather they made their destruction obligatory, and that is because the truth that is present in the books of the people of innovation can be found in the Book and the Sunnah and therefore it is obligatory to take it from its original source which is not contaminated with filth nor innovation, since it is the spring that is pure, and the water that is fresh.

An example of that: Two wells of water, one of them pure and clean and the other muddy filled with dirt and filth, so does one with intellect say: `Go to the second well and take from its water.’ The one with intellect does not say this.

So what if there was found one who was deterring people from the pure spring and calling the people to drink from the muddy well filled with dirt and filth…”

“And the Messenger of Allaah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam warned against reading the writings of the People of the Book even though they are not free of some truth.

On the authority of Jaabir bin Abdillah who said that Umar bin al-Khattaab came to the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam with a writing that he had gotten from one of the People of the Book and he became angry and said: `Are you in doubt O Ibn al-Khattaab?! By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! I have come to you with that which is clear, do not ask them about anything so that they speak the truth and you deny it, or they speak falsehood and you believe it, and by the One in Whose Hand is my soul, if Moosa was alive, he would have to follow me.’[1]

And Shayhkul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah said,

`It is hated for the one who does not have the ability to critique and distinguish (between truth and falsehood) to look in the books that have a number of fabricated narrations, and misguided opinions like the books of the people innovation, and it is hated to take knowledge from the Qassaas (storytellers) and their likes who tell many lies in their speech, even if they speak much of the truth’.” [End of quote, See an-Najm al-Baadee p. 27]

The statement of Ibn Taymiyyah sheds much light on this issue where he mentions that even if there is much truth to be found in their speech, it is mixed with lies and fabrications and therefore the one who does not have the ability to distinguish between truth and falsehood, Sunnah and Bid’ah, will become lost and become like the one who gathers wood at night! He will gather along with the wood, trash, dirt, and everything else that is present, as he does not have the ability of discernment.

Khaalid adh-Dhufairee in his book Ijmaa al-Ulemaa alal Hajr wat-Tahdheer min Ahlil Ahwaa (The Consensus of the Scholars Upon the Abandonment and Warning from the People of Desires) mentions in the chapter: `The methodology of the people of the Sunnah in dealing with the books of the people of innovation‘:

“Indeed from the calamities that have spread in these times, and its evil and harm have spread are those books that are filled with innovations, superstitions, and the calls to newly invented methodologies, for these innovated books have been a strong means for every innovator to spread his innovation and misguidance amongst the people and to beautify them so as to make its spread easier.

But there remains a question that needs answering and it is: “What is the path to safety from these books and to save the people of the Sunnah from them?

The path, it is the following the way of the Salafus Saalih in their dealings with the books of the people of desires and innovation. Their way was warning against these books, and leaving off looking into them, and warning from their authors, rather they ruled with the obligation of destroying these books and burning them.

And this is not oppression, rather it is the essence of justice since oppression is leaving these books filled with innovations and misguidance without warning or clarifying what is in them of falsehood, because of which many people become misguided and follow innovated methodologies that are in opposition to the Book and the Sunnah.

Our Sheikh, the carrier of the banner of criticism and praise in these times, Abu Muhammad Rabeeus Sunnah ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee hafidhahullaah, said in explanation of this issue on the cassette titled Manhaj Ahlis-Sunnah, that is found on the website of our noble brothers at `www.troid.org’ hafidhahumallaah:

“So we advise the youth and the elders, and other than them from the Muslims that Allaah has opened their breasts to the truth, and adhering to it, to remain firm upon the straight way and to advise one another to remain firm upon this truth and this path, and not to expose themselves to the affairs of straying that has affected so many from those who the people of innovation and desires have drawn into looking into the books of falsehood and misguidance and listening to the cassettes that call to desires and innovations, with the argument that they will listen and read and whatever is from the truth they will accept it, and whatever is from falsehood they will reject. But in reality they are in the position of the one who does not have the ability to distinguish between truth and falsehood, Sunnah and innovation, between Tawheed and Shirk. So they fall into misguidance, straying, and innovation, and many from this kind become enemies to the truth and enemies of the people of truth.

Hanging the du’aa for travel in a car

May 19, 2011 1 comment

Qn41: Is it permissible to hang the supplication of the traveller (du’aa of travelling) in the car so the people who haven’t memorised it yet can read it?

Ans.41: First of all, do not do this and may Allaah bless you. I don’t know of any of the Salafus-Saalih who used to hang the supplications. Secondly, try hard to memorise the supplications as there is barakah (blessing) in that and a great reward you will get from Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal. These supplications are means of worshipping Allaah so their memorisation is worship in itself. Hanging the supplication is demeaning them; so if you fear not being able to memorise them, then place them in your pocket, or the glove compartment of your car so you can read them when you wish, and return them to their place when you have finished reading them.

Aa’id al-Qarni’s recantations from some of his errors

AsSalam Alaikum, Please check the red clour text below

The translation of the book of shaykh fawzaan Al-Ajwibah al-Mufidah compiled by Jamal bin Farihan al-Harithi states on page 40-41

…So I say: Subhanallaah! How has he granted himself the right to place the True Salafi Manhaj amongst these other methodologies (manahij) and astray, innovative deviant sects?

And our question to this person who actually lives in the land of Tawhid – and who holds a Masters degree in Hadith – is if a person is not a Salafi then what is he?

And the ‘Allaamah, ‘Abdul-‘Aziz Ibn Baz – the [former] mufti of Saudi Arabia was asked: What do you say about the one who calls himself ‘Salafi’ or ‘Athari’? Is this is a tazkiyah (purification) of his own self?

So he replied – may Allaah have mercy upon him – “When he is being truthful [in his claim] that he is Salafi or Athari then there is not harm in that, [this is] similar to what the Salaf used to say, ‘So and so is a Salafi’, ‘So and so is Athari’ as a tazkiyah (commendation) which was necessary, a tazkiyah that is obligatory.” [Cassette: Haqq ul-Muslim 16/1/1413 Ta’if]

Note –  After completing this book some papers reached me which contained some of Aa’id al-Qarni’s recantations from some of his errors. I found that amongst them was his recantation of this grave error. It is from justice that we mention this particular one: “Fourteen: I had said in a cassette, ‘Whoever makes it obligatory upon the people that he should be an Ikhwani or a Salafi or a Tablighi or a Sururi, then his repentance should be sought. Either he repents or he is to be killed.’ This is an error that emanated from me and I seek Allaah’s forgiveness from it. What I meant was that whoever did that, then he has legislated (into the religion). However, it is an error regardless and I pardon myself from it. I believe that the madhhab of the Salaf is the correct madhhab and it is the one that is obligatory for the people to follow, to be guided by it and to traverse its path.”

And Shaikh Bakr Abu Zaid said, “And when it is said, ‘Salaf’ or ‘the Salafis’ or ‘Salafiyyah’ then this is an ascription to the Salaf us-Salih, all of the Sahabah – may Allaah be pleased with them. So whoever followed them in goodness, and not those who were led astray with desires… And those who were firm upon the methodology (minhaj) of Prophethood were associated (by others) to the Salaf us-Salih. Hence it was said to them, [that they are], ‘the Salaf’, ‘the Salafis’ and an ascription to them [being the word] ‘Salafi’. So upon this, the word Salaf means, the Salaf us-Salih (the Righteous Predecessors). And this word when it is applied generally means everyone who guides himself by the Sahabah – may Allaah be pleased with them – even if he was in this modern time of ours. It is like this, and this is what the sayings of the People of Knowledge are agreed upon. Therefore, this is an ascription which does not have any aspect which departs from the requirements of the Book and the Sunnah. Rather it is an ascription which does not depart, even for one moment, from the very first generation [of Muslims]. It is from them and returns to them. As for the one who opposes them with a particular name or custom, then no, even if he lived amongst them and in their time.” [Hukm ul-Intimaa p.36].

Shaikh ‘Abdul Muhsin Al-’Abbaad Was Asked About The Killing Of The Kharijite Bin Laden

Shaikh ‘Abdul Muhsin Al-’Abbaad Was Asked About The Killing Of The Kharijite Bin Laden

Question: What is the balanced position concerning the killing of Usamah Bin Laden as there are those who are delighted with his killing, and others who said that he was a “Mujaahid” and they judged him to have achieved martyrdom?

Shaikh ‘Abdul Muhsin Al-’Abbaad (hafidhahullaah) said:

How is he a Mujaahid?! Yes, he was a Mujaahid [a person who strove] in the path of the devil. Usamah Bin Laden brought a great deal of evil to the Muslims, and there is no doubt that his departure will bring them ease; the people will be more at ease due to his departure.

Usama Bin Ladin Was A Calamity Upon the Muslim Nation – Praising Him Is A Deficiency In Ones Understanding Of Islam

Shaikh Muqbil bin Hadi al-Wadi’i (Rahimullah), the Salafi Scholar of Yemen stated:

“I absolve and exonerate myself (in front of Allah) from Bin Ladin, for he is a misfortune and a calamity upon the ummah (Muslim nation), and his actions are evil.” [Published in the Kuwaiti magazine, ar-Ra'i, dated 19 December 1998]

The Shaykh  Allaamah Saalih Al-Fawzaan was asked: Is Bin Laden and those who follow his views and promote his beliefs considered to be from the (deviant sect known as the) Khawaarij?

Shaikh Al-Fawzaan: “There is a (well known) principle, and this is that everyone who rebels against those in authority is considered to be from the Khawaarij, whether this is Bin Laden or anyone else. Anyone who rebels against the Muslim leaders is deemed to be from the Khawaarij.” [1427/2/5 in the lesson  The Explanation of the Creed']

Shaikh Salih Aal ash-Shaikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Saudi Arabia, stated in a lecture on the subject of deviations in the understanding of Islam:

“….until in these times, perhaps you have heard some teachers praising Usama Bin Ladin, and this is a deficiency in understanding Islam.”
