O mankind fear Allaah and guard your tongues because it is very dangerous. The Prophet warned from (the dangers) of the tongue as he mentioned in the authentic Hadeeth when Muadh asked him about an action that will enter him into the Jannah and will distance him from the fire, then he mentioned to Muadh great actions (to act by) and at the end of this Hadeeth he said:
“Shall I not tell you of the controlling of all that?”
Meaning, about what will (help) in preserving that for you?
He said:”Yes, O Messenger of Allah”, and he took hold of his tongue and said: “Restrain this.”He said: “O Prophet of Allah, will what we say be held against us?” He said: “May your mother be bereaved of you, Muadh! Is there anything that topples people on their faces – or he said on their noses into Hell-fire other than the harvest of their tongues?”
The people are very negligent when it comes to speaking and they think (what they say) just blows away with the wind, but Allaah the most high says:
“And indeed We have created man, and We know what his own self whispers to him. And Weare nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). (50:16)
(Remember!) That the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions).
