Virtues of the Month of Shaban

Sha’ban is the month before Ramadhan.

I have a question. I heard there is nothing called shab-e-barat in 15th of shaban. This night is like other 364 nights but now I am seeing in your posts that indeed this night is true. What should be done and shouldn’t be done in this night? Should we pray nafail, fast next day or read tasbeeh in this night? What shall we do and what shouldn’t we do? What should we do to get our sins forgiven? Is it shab-e-barat? Last year I came across many articles against it, thus didn’t observe it and as a result there was a chaos in my family. What is it? Scholars keep changing there views!!! Please provide what scholars (ibn uthaymin,bin baz,ibn ul Qayyim etc) have said regarding observing the night.
